Rose Morse should be well known throughout the Bay Area. Her tenacity and athleticism are hard to come by in a player. She is always an active player on defense and offense, and this is the type of player you want on your team. She is a scoring machine and has some of the best moves I’ve seen a player do. Again I should mention her statistics, and they are some incredible numbers. Rose averages 22.1 PPG, and has a total of 420 points to date for the 2019-2020 season. That is a huge number, and this amount of points is not achieved by many. Although for Rose Morse, scoring is easy. Her field goal percentage is 46% and has scored 39 three-pointers this past season. Last but not least let’s mention her free throw shooting percentage, 101 FTM, and a free throw percentage of 74%. This is quite impressive, every great player is able to make free throws. Rose is also an unselfish teammate, her passing skills are amazing, and is always looking for an opportunity to pass to an open teammate. Morse can drive to the basket with ease and has some great skill moves to make her drives to the basket effortless. Rose Morse is an aggressive player who is hard to defend, and I can’t want to see what’s in store for her for the rest of her high school career. She is one of the most stirring point guards in the game.
Lydia Li- 2021, 5”6′, PG & SG, #23, Lynbrook High School(San Jose, CA)
Lydia Li is one of the most competitive players I have seen on the court. She is a very dynamic player that has a lot of energy. Lydia is very quick, and also has really great control of the ball at all times. She is one of the most athletic players out there and makes great decisions on offense and defense. Her moves are very smooth, and her shots are always accurate. Lydia averages 16.1 PPG, with a total of 434 points to date this past season of 2019-2020. Her field goal percentage is 39%, and it shows with the total of points she scored this past season. Lydia has made 58 three-pointers and has a 33% 3P%. She has also scored 60 free throws this past season, and her free throw percentage is 73%. I am always impressed when a player has an exceptional free throw shooting ability. Free throws are something that every great player should practice daily, free throws win games. Lydia also averages 5.7 RPG, and 3.2 SPG. Lydia is jampacked with great statistics, and it shows in her game. Li’s shooting form is great and has a very quick release. She is a very hard player to defend. Lydia was chosen as the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League De Anza Division MVP and rightfully deserves to be. Lydia is a very effective player and deserves recognition.
Maison Yee- 2021, PG & SG, #12, Lynbrook High School (San Jose, CA)
The first thing I’m going to say is that Maison Yee of Lynbrook High School is that she can shoot the lights out. Maison can shoot from anywhere on the court, no matter where on the court she is, she will drain the shot easily. Her shooting ability is incredible, she has range. Maison is one of the fastest players I have seen, and her quickness helps her score with ease. She is very aggressive on the fastbreak, she can dribble past any defender, and her dribbling ability is just phenomenal. Her defensive skills are great as well, she can read any pass like a book. Maison averages 15.2 PPG, with a total of 410 points for the 2019-2020 season. Her field goal percentage averages at 40%, and her free throw percentage averages at 69%. Alongside these already impressive statistics, she averages 4.0 RPG, 2.2 SPG, and 2.0 APG. Yee can score against any defender and has great skills under the basket. Maison and her fellow teammate Lydia Li are unstoppable together. Having these two great players on a team is very beneficial. Last but not least, her passing is absolutely incredible. She is always looking for an open teammate, she is very unselfish. Nonetheless, she can create opportunities for herself and is a very effective player.
Dymonique Maxie Dymonique Maxie 5'7" | PG Moreau Catholic HS | 2023 State CA – 2023, 5”7′, PG & SG, #10, Moreau Catholic High School (Hayward, CA)
I’ve mentioned Dymonique Maxie Dymonique Maxie 5'7" | PG Moreau Catholic HS | 2023 State CA before, and she is worth mentioning again. She is a freshman killing the game. She is the captain of her high school team as a freshman, and this is not common. Dymonique averages 15.1 PPG, and has a total of 422 points to date for the 2019-2020 season. She also averages 5.6 RPG, and 4.0 SPG. This just shows that she is very active on both ends of the court. She is very quick, and can take on players at all times, and she is never afraid to do it. Her physicality is phenomenal, and it can be very intimidating attempting to score against her. Dymonique is a very difficult person to guard, even a top-notch player has difficulty guarding her. She is a player that doesn’t have a hard time driving to the basket, and she is also skillful at driving and dishing to another open teammate. I would love to see Dymonique in action during her upcoming sophomore season. She is a beast and a tenacious player that has a future ahead of her
Lenyiah Fulsom- 2023, 5”4′, PG & G, #14, Ygnacio Valley High School(Concord, CA)
There is not much to say yet about Lenyiah Fulsom of Ygnacio Valley High School. She is a successful freshman player on a very successful basketball team. Lenyiah has been very beneficial to her team as an underclassman. She has helped her team reach a 10-0 record during this past 2019-2020 season. Lenyiah averages 13.1 PPG, and that’s a spectacular average for a freshman. She has scored a total of 364 points for the 2019-2020 season, and as a freshman, this is not something that should be looked over. Freshman’s scoring many points their during their first year on Varsity just means they have the ability to play at high intensity. Her field goal percentage is 45%, and her free throw percentage is 49 %. Lenyiah has lots of room for improvement still, she still has the rest of her high school season to go. Although there is room for improvement, her statistics are already loaded. Lenyiah averages 3.3 APG, 3.6 RPG, and 4.6 SPG. Lenyiah is very energetic on offense and defense. I’m excited to see what is in store for Lenyiah for her sophomore year. She is bound to be just as successful as she was during her freshman year.
