In the first game I watched on Saturday morning, Walker was terrific and full of energy for her Example Sports squad. The shifty Point Guard handles the ball well and could get in the lane whenever she wanted. Nyla is a tough athlete who doesn’t shy away from contact and loves to pressure opposing PG’s on the defensive end.
2023 Skylar Jones Skylar Jones 5'9" | CG Whitney Young | 2023 State IL , 5’9″ Guard, Whitney Young
Playing up with the Mac Irvin Lady Fire 17U team this weekend, Jones showed that she can play with anyone at the high school level. The high-IQ Guard continues to be a high-level defender, always disrupting passing lanes and taking the ball the other way for transition points. Skylar gets in the lane with ease and knows how to adjust at the basket to find creative ways to score.
2022 Kenzie Hare Kenzie Hare 5'9" | CG Naperville North | 2022 State IL , 5’9″ Guard, Bartlett
I tweeted this out during one of her games, but I haven’t seen anyone shoot the three at the consistently high level that Hare has this summer. The M14 Hoops Combo Guard has been one of the most impressive players throughout this AAU season and shows no sign of slowing down. With how proven of a scorer Kenzie is, High Majors are bound to start taking a serious look heading into her Junior season.
2022 Joy Bergstrom Joy Bergstrom 5'9" | CG Saint Viator | 2022 State IL , 5’9” Guard, Saint Viator
Similar to what I mentioned for Kenzie Hare Kenzie Hare 5'9" | CG Naperville North | 2022 State IL , Bergstrom has also been one of the most impressive all-around players this AAU season. The Wolverinas Combo Guard does everything at a high level on the offensive end, including shooting the three at a high rate and using her strength and athletic ability to finish at the rim. Joy is a high-IQ player who sees the court well and thrives in a fast-paced game.
2023 Jasmine Brown Jasmine Brown 5'8" | CG Example Academy | 2023 State IL , 5’8″ Guard, Joliet Catholic
This was my first time watching the high-level Example Sports Combo Guard play this summer, and she is exactly what I expected. Brown is a strong, ball-dominant Guard who consistently made dynamic plays on the offensive end. She can shoot the ball well from deep and uses her strength and athleticism to get in the lane and finish through contact. Jasmine also uses great court vision and passing abilities to find teammates for easy buckets.
2021 Kendall Moriarty Kendall Moriarty 6'0" | SG Benet Academy | 2021 State #100 Nation IL , 6’1” Guard, Benet Academy
A top player in the Class of 2021, Moriarty has done a terrific job of playing like the High Major player that she is. The M14 Hoops Shooting Guard and Nebraska commit displays excellent leadership in both how she plays and how she talks on the court. Kendall plays tough on defense, guarding multiple positions due to her length and athleticism, and uses those same attributes to finish at the rim at a high level.
2022 Anna Blank Anna Blank 6'0" | CG Olney | 2022 State IL , 6’0” Guard, Richland County
A top prospect from the southern part of the state, Blank is a composed Combo Guard with good length and a wide range of skills on offense. The Indiana Elite Havoc rising Junior shoots the ball at a high rate from deep and the mid-range, and uses good ball-handling skills to attack the lane and finish strong at the rim. Anna is a highly intelligent player with the ball and uses great court vision to find open teammates for easy points.
2023 Janae Kent Janae Kent 6'0" | SG Oak Forest | 2023 State IL , 6’0″ Guard, Oak Forest
The #5 Ranked Player in the rising Sophomore class continues to be a steady option to lead the offense. Kent, a Combo Guard with Example Sports, handles the ball well and creates matchup problems on the perimeter and in the post with her length and skillset. Likewise, she can guard the 1-5 effectively with her versatility and toughness on defense.
2022 Zoe Stewart, 5’9” Guard, Terre Haute North (IN)
This was my first time watching Stewart play in person, and the Indiana Elite Havoc Combo Guard is incredibly fun to watch. She is strong and quick and loves to attack off the bounce and make plays in the lane. Zoe also has an above-average shot from deep.
