The Magic competed in the Windy in Indy Classic as a part of the USJN/Bluestar Travel League. Pacific 2022 made the trip to Iowa to compete in the top division of the 16u (Red) Nike TOC Session 3.
NW Magic Team Huff
Top Prospect: 2023 5’9 PG Mjracle Sheppard (Montverde Academy) showed why she is a major Division 1 prospect. Her focus and tenacity is highly noticeable on both sides of the ball. The Magic were clearly better when Sheppard was on the floor, even when she was missing shots, because she could hold her own defending on and off the ball, as well as grabbing defensive and offensive rebounds. She also displayed some maturity with her drive and kicks to perimeter shooters. Teams in the Pac-12, Big East, C-USA, Big 10 and more are involved in her recruitment.
Top Shooter: 2022 5’5 G Katelyn Heideman (Hermiston HS/OR) can really get hot from the three line. The lefty shooter lets it fly from 25 feet with full confidence and she can knock it down. Despite her slight frame, Heideman gives a full effort on the floor and provides floor spacing from all angles on the court.
Fresh Face: 2022 5’9 SF Kali Haizlip Kali Haizlip 5'9" | SF Emerald Ridge | 2022 State WA (Squalicum HS) is a strongly built wing-forward that defends with physicality and can finish around the basket. Haizlip is a quality rebounder and can make some plays on the defensive end with her athleticism. A new prospect to watch!
Creative Scorer: 2022 5’6 PG Aniyah Heavens Aniyah Heavens 5'6" | CG Chiawana | 2022 State WA (Chiawana HS) is coming into her own as a creative scorer that can also run a team. Heavens has all the trick shots in her bag and a strong enough core and upper body to be able to get those shots off. Picked up interest from a Big Sky most recently.

Pacific 2022
Top Performer: 2022 6’0 PF Catelyn Deaver Catelyn Deaver 6'0" | PF Sumner | 2022 State WA (Sumner HS) was consistently a top scorer and rebounder for Pacific . Deaver is physical and positions her body well to finish around the basket or snatch boards. She plays within herself and it worked to her advantage as she had multiple really strong double doubles.
Stock Riser: 2022 5’4 PG Kaylee Cooper Kaylee Cooper CG Sumner | 2022 State WA (Sumner HS) was impressive this weekend with her ability to do a little bit of everything, whether it was scoring double digits, grabbing a few rebounds or setting her teammates up to score. Cooper is definitely a smaller point guard, but she performed at a solid level and saw her stock rise as a result.
Consistent Performers: 2022 5’8 SG Taylor Campbell Taylor Campbell 5'8" | CG Archbishop Murphy | 2022 State WA (Archbishop Murphy HS) was another really solid player throughout the weekend. Displays a good basketball IQ and ability to knock down some shots, while filling other areas of the stat sheet. 2022 5’7 CG Kaimyla Nolen Kaimyla Nolen 5'7" | CG Kentwood | 2022 State WA (Kentwood HS) was also consistent with what she brings to the table. A true two-way player whose value does not always show up in the stat sheet, although she had some pretty good statistical games as well scoring, rebounding and assisting.
