Kayla McPhearson | 5’7″ | PG | Team Elite Hubbard | 2021
The recently committed Tar Heel scored from the point guard position at will. There are not many that can score the ball as effectively as she does. She is a great example of what it means to be able to score at all three levels. McPhearson has that rare ability to make tough shots from any spot on the court. She has blazing speed in transition and an elite handle that she uses well to create space for her own scoring opportunity. Throw in her range behind the arc and you can understand why coaches lined up for her pledge. She was fun to watch this weekend and is truly a fearless competitor on both ends of the floor. She finished with 19 points and 5 rebounds but did not finish the game due to an injury.
Emily Monson | 6’0″ | SG | BCS Training Select | 2023
The Brandon Clay’s Training Select group offered me an opportunity to see several players for the first time. Monson, an Orlando, FL native, played very well. She demonstrated a good understanding of spacing and how to find the open areas around the perimeter when teammates drove the lanes. She went 3 of 3 from distance in a good match up against Team Curry, using a quick release and good shooting mechanics. She also showed the ability to get to her spots for mid-range jumpers and finished well at the rim over defenders. She showed a polished game and is sure to be a scoring threat when on the floor. She finished with 17 points and 4 rebounds.
Talaysia Cooper | 6’0″ | Wing | Team Curry | 2022
Cooper is a special athlete. She can cover a lot of ground in transition in a short amount of time. She reads and reacts to defenders very well making it hard to stop her from getting to the rim when she has made up her mind. She is also a strong rebounder that crashes hard on the offensive end when left unboxed. She scored at the rim multiple times and got to the foul line off of strong aggressive drives. She is also very valuable on the defensive end as she plays with a high motor and uses her length well to pressure other perimeter players.

Feagin is a consistent example of versatility on the basketball court. The South Carolina commit can impact the game in virtually every way. In a close game against Team Elite, she added to every statistical category from scoring to blocks and everything in between. She ended with a double-double in points and rebounds. Her ability to grab boards and initiate her own offense with strong bust out dribbles or demand the ball on the low block, where she can play back to the basket and face up, makes it extremely hard for anyone to defend her. She ended with 17 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 blocks.

The Vanderbilt commit showed made an impression. Her ability to score it on the interior and around the perimeter is an valuable asset. I was most impressed with her skill around the rim. She used some crafty play to get defenders off their feet and also showed that she could finish even when contested in the paint. She also moved well without the ball, relocating to the correct spots creating easy passing angles for penetrating guards leading to easy scores. Her three-point shooting was on display also, as she went 2 of 2 from deep. She scored 24 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.
