Continue ReadingListed below are a group of players that are knowledgeable and unique to the game. The class of 2022 has a lot to bring to the table for their next 2 years of high school. They have a little bit more experience than freshman, have a general sense of how competitive games can be, and what it takes to succeed. These players are apart of the North Coast Section Division 3:
Isabela De La Cruz- 2022, 5’4”, PG, #33, Las Lomas High School (Walnut Creek, CA)
Isabela is truly one of the most sprightly players on the court. I have mentioned this before but she really is a joy to watch. She competes at the highest level and is always aggressive on both ends of the court. She can be very intimidating and is not afraid to take on a defender. On defense, she seems to be always aware of where the ball is at and can read passes like a book. Isabela averaged 16.4 PPG, and scored a total of 278 points during the 2019-2020 season. Also scored a total of 76 free throws, and averaged a 62% FT%. Isabela is a great playmaker and is skillful in many aspects of basketball. Although she is not one of the quickest players, she is one of the most composed players on the court. She conducts herself well with lacking significant speed. I’m excited to see what she brings to the table during her Junior season.
Ariel Anderson- 2022, 5’9”, PG & SF, #20, San Marin High School (Novato, CA)
Ariel Anderson of San Marin High School in Novato, CA is certainly a wonderful player that I can’t wait to see in person. She is very aggressive on defense, and she sticks to you like a piece of tape. Anderson doesn’t leave much room for the opponent to dribble or shoot. She is a tall player with a long wingspan. This physical feature assists her ability to steal and get many rebounds. Ariel averaged 10.7 PPG, and scored a total of 333 points for the 2019-2020 season. Accompanied by those statistics, she also averaged 5.8 RPG. Greatness waits for Ariel Anderson. She does nothing but hustle on the defensive end of the court, and she definitely has a knack for scoring. Although, I do believe her dribblings skills can help improve her game even more. There is lots of potential in Ariel Anderson, and she has a big future ahead of her.
Randi Harding- 2022, Guard, 5’6”, #1, St. Joseph Notre Dame High School (Alameda, CA)
Randi Harding displays outstanding athleticism, and it is something you will not miss while watching Randi play. She unquestionably uses her speed to her advantage. Harding has a feisty personality on the court. Not only that, but she is also very intelligent and has a high basketball IQ. Randi can create incredible passes under pressure. Harding is always looking for opportunities to score, and always looking for an open teammate. Harding averaged 10.4 PPG, and scored a total of 117 points to date during the 2019-2020 season. Randi also averaged a 52% FG%. Randi is an up and coming star that will eventually work her way to the top, and I’m looking forward to following along her basketball journey.
Kaya Toor- 2022, 5’7”, Shooting Guard, #15, Las Lomas High School(Walnut Creek, CA)
There is not much to say yet about Kaya Toor. She is tall and very athletic. Toor has lots of potential. She plays alongside teammate Rose Morse, who facilitates well to Kaya. Toor has an exceptionally good shot and is really energetic on defense. She is always looking to steal the ball. Toor averaged 6.9 PPG, and scored a total of 125 points this past season of the 2019-2020 season. She also earned a 72% free throw percentage, she does not go to the line too often but is more than likely to make her free throws. She also averages 3.8 RPG, which goes along with her effectiveness on defense. I think she has room for growth, and there is still a lot of time left in her high school season. I’m excited to see how much Kaya improves during her Junior season.
