Continue ReadingAllie Mead Allie Mead SG Canby | 2023 State OR 2023 5’5” PG NW Stars/Canby HS – Was more aggressively on the offensive end as a scorer as she scored the Stars’ first points. Her high motor and general knowledge about the game is apparent, as she is constantly hounding around the ball and putting herself in areas to make plays. She pushes the ball with a certain edge, as she was the spark plug for the Stars all game long, making plays from end to end. Finished with 8 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals in an all out attack.
Carley Robb 2021 5’8″ SG NW Stars/West Albany HS – Everyone knows Carley as the knockdown shooter that has such quick and ideal form shot after shot. Against Ignition, she also displayed the ability as a pivotal defender in the half court trap setting, as she is both assertive and intentional when it comes to the team defense setting. Robb is an overall team systems player who knows when to give it up when a teammate is open.. She had 4 points, 2 assists, and 3 steals in their win over Ignition.
Rhyan Mogel Rhyan Mogel 5'10" | SF Clackamas | 2023 State OR 2023 5’10″ SF NW Stars/Clackamas HS – Developing into one of the Stars’ best two way players as well as a top scoring option as she led them in scoring with 17 points to go with 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Offensively, she is adept at getting to the basket with authority and finishing with either finesse or physicality. Defensively always on her toes as a focused player who plays with a lot of effort on this end, as she is constantly trying to come up with the ball one way or another.
Sage Kramer Sage Kramer 6'1" | PG Philomath | 2022 State OR 2022 6’0” PF NW Stars/Philomath HS – The Stars’ engine and what brings a lot of the players and plays together, as she anchors them in the paint as a solid, determined defender who plays until the whistle is blown. Against Ignition, she contributed 4 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals in an all out display of talent and grit. She is a talented passer who makes good decisions from the high post and shows the willingness to ability to find teammates in favorable positions.
Mia Skoro 2022 5’8″ SG NW Stars/La Salle HS – She is a complementary player that showed versus Ignition that she can go out there with any unit, any ensemble of players and provide a set of stability that is uncanny. Skoro is an aggressive ball handler that gets to the hoop at a split of a gap and finishes with good fluidity. In addition to this, she is an above average passer that makes the right plays at the right time. Finished with 11 points and 4 assists.
Halle Hageman Halle Hageman 5'6" | SG Mountainside | 2022 State OR 2022 5’6” PG NW Stars/Mountainside HS – Was one of the overall MVP’s against Ignition, as she displayed her abilities as a consistent leader in the form of a calculated scorer and energetic floor general. She always has the ability to turn it on any moment, through routine offensive displays as a knockdown shooter as well as one that shows a lot of flair getting to the rim. Contributed 10 points and 4 rebounds in their victory.
Kennedie Shuler Kennedie Shuler 5'10" | PG Sam Barlow | 2023 State OR 2023 5’9” PG NW Stars/Barlow HS – Kennedie’s new found responsibility is the point guard and leader of the second unit, as she has been displaying the ability to weave together a unit using her overall savviness and wit. Kennedie’s biggest inputs towards this have been in the form of an energetic defender who comes in with effort and a plan of attack. Offensively, she knows how to find teammates in stride for scores and shows wiggle to get to the basket. Had 9 points, 2 rebounds, and 3 assists over Ignition.
Carly Stone 2022 5’6” SG NW Stars/Mountainside HS – Carly’s biggest asset on offense is hands down her shot, but as of recently, she has been displaying other ways to get the ball into the basket. Against Ignition she was shown to be a determined slasher who makes her way into the paint with aggression and authority. Simple yet effective but also displays a nice touch around the basket. Contributed 9 points in a nice balanced display of offense.
