Torin Rogers Torin Rogers 6'2" | SF Murphy | 2022 State NC led both teams in scoring with 16 points. She was a dynamic player who could easily grab rebounds for her team, especially on offense where she was putting it back up for her own score. She would create steals that led to fast breaks where she knew when to pass the ball to her teammate or take it all the way herself. She has some great height on her that she knows how to use well.
Emma Smith added 13 points for her team showing some dynamic moves. She was very patient with the ball knowing when would be best to make her move. It seemed as if she would just have to make one move to get by her opponents, and she could then pull up to show off her jump shot.
A young athlete who added three three-pointers for her team was Gracie Glance. Her shot was certainly pretty to watch. She also showed her ability to drive and draw the opponents toward her in order to open up her teammate for the basket.
Nahndi Smith Nahndi Smith 5'7" | PG Asheville Christian | 2021 NC had 8 points and Sarah Pulliam had 7 points. Smith was very fun to watch showing off her shot behind the arc. Her speed was on full display playing the bottom of the 1-3-1 defense where she ran from corner to corner in a split second with ease making those supposedly open corner areas in the defense impossible to take advantage of. Pulliam was also quick moving up and down the court. She created steals that turned into fast break points. She easily created space between her and her defenders.
The Carolina Lady Rising Stars also had some shining athletes. Lariyah Clark had 9 points and Nakyla Heaggans had 6 points. Clark was aggressive with the ball and created space for herself to grab a rebound. She also was quick after getting the rebound pushing the ball up the court. Heaggans was dominant inside knowing the right move to make against her opponent and not being scared to go up for the rebound against strong opponents.
