A few months ago, I put together a fun piece on the men’s side of a hypothetical player draft. In short, it was the ten best players I believed I would want to start a team with. Since I did one for them, I thought I would bring my opinion to the women’s game. I have divided this piece into two parts with players six through ten below. Selections one through five will follow this list.
To note, this complication is focused on players returning to play in the area. Graduating seniors are omitted from this list.
Let’s have some fun to end the month and get into it…
6) Andrea Daley Andrea Daley 6'0" | SF Miami Country Day | 2021 State FL – Miami Country Day Spartans
Daley started her career at Monsignor Pace and has already shown off her talent playing for Miami Country Day. The 6-foot forward averaged 12.8 points and 8.1 rebounds at the elite Florida school. Daley is going to cause mismatch problems with her size and be a cool bet to hit mid-range jumpers over defenders. Her athleticism along with her frame gives her an advantage to guard multiple positions. In addition, Daley has good instincts after averaging over two steals per game last season. A member of the Miami Suns, Daley will look to lead the Spartans back to Lakeland after falling short of a championship last season.
7) Samara Spencer Samara Spencer 5'8" | CG St Thomas Aquinas | 2021 State FL – St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders
2021 Samara Spencer Samara Spencer 5'8" | CG St Thomas Aquinas | 2021 State FL is a valuable commodity to any team she joins. The Arkansas Razorback commit is prolific as either a point guard or shooting guard. This is something she continues to improve upon running with the Miami Suns. Between her quickness and shooting ability, Spencer has the playmaking style to leave opponents out on an island. In addition, the 5-foot-8 Raider is not afraid to get on the glass and create extra possessions for her team. Personally, a player like Spencer who can affect the game in other ways is a dime a dozen. The rising senior averaged 16.6 points and 5.9 rebounds per game.
8) Jada Green Jada Green 6'0" | PF St. Thomas Aquinas | 2022 State FL – St. Thomas Aquinas
Things start getting tough, as all the players on this list could easily make the top five. One of those players is 2021 Jada Green Jada Green 6'0" | PF St. Thomas Aquinas | 2022 State FL . The 6-foot wing has the size and athleticism I would want on the floor. You cannot quantify her presence on the court on stats alone. Green is efficient around the paint and can beat you off the dribble with her finesse. In addition, good luck trying to slow her down once she gets in transition. As a defender, trying to stop her first move while also being aware of her passing ability makes her a dominant force.
9) Daniella Aronsky Daniella Aronsky 5'8" | CG American Heritage | 2021 State FL – American Heritage Patriots
I wonder if plus/minus or win shares are kept as a stat? If it is, I would have to guess 2021 Daniella Aronsky Daniella Aronsky 5'8" | CG American Heritage | 2021 State FL would be high on the list. The Patriots floor leader would make a novice or superstar team instantly better. It just so happens Aronsky has already cemented her legacy at American Heritage with three state championships. While being one of the nations leaders in assists, Aronsky can defend her position and has good footwork. With her ability to see plays before they are happening, the rising senior is kind of playing chess while some of her opponents are playing checkers. Aronsky is just not the player who is going to put her team in bad spots. As you can see, it usually turns into a winning turn of events.
10) Emma Wallhoff Emma Wallhoff 5'10" | CG Westminster | 2021 State FL – Westminster Academy Lions
When is the best time to hit a 3-point shot? Personally, I think its off an offensive rebound when the defense tends to collapse. If that happens, do not leave 2021 Emma Wallhoff Emma Wallhoff 5'10" | CG Westminster | 2021 State FL open. The Southern Mississippi commit has already connected on 466 3-pointers in her career. However, Wallhoff is more than just a deadly player from behind the arc. The rising senior has scored 2000 points due to her ability to hit from anywhere on the floor. When it is all said and done, Wallhoff will leave as one of the best scorers in the history of the Westminster Academy program.
