Teams from several different states were in attendance, but the Sooner State was incredibly well-represented. Here are few prospects that caught my eye:
Takyla Pitts | 2022 | 6’1” Shooting Guard | Pro Skills 16U Black | Union HS – Pitts possesses great size and length as a guard. She can shoot it over defenders from mid-range as well as from deep. Her rhythm jumper is excellent. The 6-foot-1-inch two-guard knows how to be productive on or off the ball on offense. She is a strong finisher at the rim who follows her shots, while also contributing with her passing and rebounding. Furthermore, she can be extremely disruptive at the other end thanks to her length.
Alexsyah Goudeau | 2022 | 5’9” Combo Guard | Shock 2022 3SSB | Tahlequah Sequoyah HS – Goudeau has an effortless style of play when she is on the floor. She seems to be a step or two ahead of everyone mentally. She has a knack for finding shooters on the perimeter and creating for others. She can get her own too, especially off the drive. She is acrobatic once she gets inside and tremendous when it comes to maneuvering through traffic. Her IQ shows up on defense as well, where she racked up numerous steals and deflections. The Tahlequah Sequoyah guard is a tough-nosed two-way prospect.
Caya Smith | 2024 | 6’1” Small Forward/Power Forward | BTR UAA | Putnam City West HS – Smith’s combination of size, skill, and athleticism is special. She has the speed to beat defenders off the dribble, but she can produce in the post too. She is an aggressive and physical rebounder at both ends, which is something that separates her from a lot of young forwards. I was also impressed with her activity and engagement as a defender inside and on the perimeter. She is a dynamic two-way wing.
Taliyah Parker | 2024 | 6’1” Shooting Guard/Small Forward | BTR UAA | Putnam City West HS – Parker is another long and dynamic wing for BTR and Putnam City West. She is a solid ball handler as well as a versatile scorer. She has the ability to blow by defenders due to her speed with the ball, but also knows when to decelerate for slower and more controlled attempts from the field. The 2024 prospect has a nice-looking jumper and good range as a shooter. Putnam City West needs to thank the basketball gods for blessing them with the dynamic duo of Smith and Parker for the next four seasons.
Sania Richardson | 2025 | 5’4” Point Guard | BTR UAA | Ada HS – Richardson gets it done despite being on the shorter side. She has a bulldog mentality. She never backs down to an opponent. The youngster possesses a crafty handle and bursts threw tiny openings to get to the basket, scoring among the trees on several occasions with her dribble penetration. I loved the way she pressured the defense with her quickness. As a defender, Richardson holds her own against opponents who have a size advantage on the perimeter while being sneaky good at stripping opposing ball handlers with her quick and active hands.
