As such, the elite centers from this class have all racked up plenty of blocked shots and proven themselves as great rim protectors. As noted previously, official stats are not kept for blocks in Kentucky, so all numbers listed are unofficial.
Rachel Presley Rachel Presley 6'2" | C South Laurel | 2022 State KY , South Laurel- The unofficial leader in blocks last season among returning players, Presley swatted 1.5 shots per game. While it could be argued those numbers are skewed by the fact that she did not play a full season due to transfer issues, Presley showed the ability to be a dominant inside presence on both ends of the court.
Mikayla Martin, Ashland Blazer- While she does not get as much attention as some of the other centers on this list, Martin has proven to be a great interior player in her own right. A big part of that is her excellent shot-blocking ability, good for an unofficial average of 1.5 blocks per game.
Haille Langhi, Marshall County- Perhaps the top traditional inside player in the state, defending the rim is certainly part of Langhi’s game. While she gets more attention for her offensive game, Langhi blocks plenty of shots as well thanks to her great size and interior skills.
Kennedy Lee, Dupont Manual- Having a very similar skillset to Langhi, Lee is another challenger for the title of Kentucky’s top interior player. She has elite size and athleticism and proven herself as the defensive anchor for one of the state’s best teams, making her a top-notch shot blocker.
Macie Daniel, Madison Southern- Unlike other players on this list, Daniel is not necessarily a great all-around inside player. What she is great at, though, is blocking she shots. She unofficially swatted 1.3 shots per game last year, proving to be a great interior defender, which in itself makes her a valuable interior presence.
