Sit back and relax with a nice cup of coffee or tea and let me break down these girls games as well as tell you some things you might not know about them. Here we go….
#27 – 6’3, PF, Pinewood HS, Maia Garcia Maia Garcia 6'3" | PF Pinewood | 2021 State CA – (Committed to Cal Poly SLO) – Maia is that fundamentally skilled post presence that every coach would love to have. She is proficient in the paint over both shoulders, she can drop step left or right and finish with precision. She seals her opponents inside and over the top to get easy buckets in the piant and she is no slouch when it comes to assisting her teammates for scores. She can run the floor like a gazelle and catch and finish at the rim point blank. Very impressed on what we saw from her.
#35 – 5’6, PG, Grant HS, Diamond Richardson Diamond Richardson 5'6" | PG Grant | 2021 State CA – (Committed to U of the Pacific) – Daimond is a diamond in the rough that was found early and become the smooth and shiny object that makes her and her game so good. She is a crafty point guard with handles, quickness, high IQ and is a pretty decent passer in our opinion. She can put the ball in the basket at all three levels on the floor, that is why she was chosen by UoP to be one of their elite guards in the program for 2021. We expect big things from her on the next level.
#39 – 5’6, PG, Brentwood HS, Briana Furch – (Committed to CSU Fullerton) – Furch is that versatile fundamental girl who can just play the game of basketball, I was recently able to watch some tape on her and noticed some things about her game. She is able to make the three point shot with consistency and is willing to set a screen here or two for her teammates. She is a coaches player and you would want her on your team because of the intangibles she possess in her game. Great on and off the ball defender and will become more of a drive attack guard at the next level.
#77 – 6’1, C, Burroughs HS, Faith Boulanger Faith Boulanger 6'1" | C Burroughs HS | 2021 State CA – Boulanger is one of the fastest rising prospects in the SoCal area. She’s heard from both Division 1 and Division 2 schools. She is a versatile player who can play in the paint and on the wing. She is patient, she reads the defense and doesn’t force anything. She makes the right plays and reads. Has a nice floater in the lane. Defensively, she has good timing on her contests in the paint. Good rebounder who boxes out properly.
#95 – 5’8, SG, Santa Barbara HS, Athena Saragoza Athena Saragoza 5'8" | SG Santa Barbara HS | 2021 State CA – Athena is like Richard Hamilton in college, he was relentless and always looking for a way to score the basketball. Athena is that, she is a walking bucket, she can score it from all three levels and she is a pretty decent defender as well. She will attack you off the dribble and finish at the basket thru contact as well as stop and pop the midrange or three ball. Her numbers this year were impressive and we believe if she is given the opportunity on the next level, she is that type of player there as well. We have no doubt about that.
