With a long list of rankings being released there are many unfamiliar names that coaches and opponents should tune into! Take a look at a few prospects who are new to the rankings this season or have made tremendous leaps and have improved their ranking position this time around.
#25. Khendel Rolision | Homestead | WI Impact | 5’8 CG
An elite athlete who competes incredibly hard on both ends, Rolision was one of the top stock risers going into ranking updates. Previously listed below her current number she proved her talents were worthy of the 25 spot. She’s a workhorse on the floor and is constantly chasing loose balls and boards. Rolision is becoming a strong three level scorer and her length boosts her versatility. She’s relentless on defense and is oftentimes deflecting passes or finding the perfect timing to alter shots or steal from her opponent off the dribble.
#27. Ziy Conner Ziy Conner 6'0" | CG Independence | 2021 State WI | Independence | WI Playmakers | 6’0 CG
Conner is new to the rankings this time around and is just scratching the surface. HIGH CEILING! Conner has an exciting flow to her game and a high basketball IQ. Her mechanics are there- you can tell she spends a lot of time perfecting her craft. She is incredibly mobile for her size, and she plays with fluidity on the court. Her mobility allows her to be a force on the perimeter, attacking the basket as well as on being a threat on defense. She has super impressive handles and can create a shot for herself off the dribble or pass. She runs the floor exceptionally well- thriving in transition baskets or going downhill in general.
#29. Desiree Kleiman Desiree Kleiman 6'0" | SF Mishicot | 2021 State WI | Mishicot | Purple Aces | 6’0 SF
Kleiman brings so much to the court for both her high school and grassroots squad. She’s a gifted athlete who plays with high energy and tempo. Each time I’ve watched her compete- Kleiman does something I haven’t seen her do before. Her game is going to translate so well at the next level. She works the offense and is patient, composed and smart about attacking the basket or taking a shot. She moves well without the ball as well as with her teammates. She’s constantly communicating on the floor and understands the right spots to be at. Simply put, a very intelligent basketball player. She can heat up from outside and is an offensive rebounding specialist.
#36. Angela Slattery Angela Slattery 5'10" | CG Union Grove | 2021 State WI | Union Grove | WI Impact | 5’10 CG
Slattery is a talented prospect with a lot of upside. She can score from anywhere on the floor and is confident with a defender in her face. Last season Slattery averaged 10.4 points per game for Union Grove. This summer competing for a tough Wisconsin Impact program, Slattery has developed her defensive skills and footwork. She’s quick on her feet and very well balanced- often guarding 1-4. A dynamic defensive threat that uses her length to alter shots and intimidate smaller guards. An offensive standout as well, Slattery can take over a game with her smooth shooting stroke and ability to handle the ball on the perimeter against pressure.
#37 CJ Romero CJ Romero 5'3" | PG Brookfield Central | 2021 State WI | Brookfield Central | 1 on 1 MKE | 5’3 PG
Romero is an exciting point guard to watch as she really demands attention while being so composed and patient with the ball. She has exceptional on court vision and ability to get her teammates involved- her passing into the post is elite. A floor general for both of her teams, Romero knows how to find her teammates in their shooting pockets. She has a crafty hesitation attack dribble and is lethal when going downhill. Romero isn’t frazzled by taller defenders in the lane and it’s so exciting to watch. She does well shielding her body or drawing a foul. She’s a shift point guard that knows her role and can put big numbers on the board if need be. She is committed to Northern Michigan.
