Below is a list of stock risers in the rankings! These players have shown they have skills that are improving and coaches should watch as they add crafty and technique to their game.
#18 Katie Hildebrandt Katie Hildebrandt 6'2" | SF McFarland | 2021 State WI | McFarland | Wisconsin Academy | 6’2 SF
Hildebrandt has really developed an advanced feel for the game. Her footwork is precise and calculated; this allows her to be able to do any move at almost any time. The McFarland standout has a consistent shot, both from mid range and beginning to develop from deep. Her combo moves are so impressive- you can tell she is a student of the game by her technique immediately upon catching the basketball. She’s incredibly smooth with the ball, and she can handle it if need be. She effectively uses jab steps and does not over-dribble to get open. She is patient with the ball and doesn’t rush into moves. The talented small forward is a fierce defender as well. She also runs the floor in transition effortlessly. Hildebrandt is committed to North Dakota State.
#21 Delaney Clark Delaney Clark 5'10" | CG Appleton Easton | 2021 State WI | Appleton East | 5’10 CG
Clark is a three level scoring guard with great potential. She has plus size for a guard and her long arms give her a huge advantage on both ends of the court. Contesting defenders do not have much impact on her because of her length and release point- there is not much defenders can do to contest. Balance on her jumper also stands out; she is very composed. Playing alongside two of the top players in the 2022 class, Clark really stands out with her court vision and intelligence on the floor. She understands the flow and knows where to be at all times. She is snakey in the lane due to her ability to finagle her way through traffic and avoid paint defenders. From there, here floater game takes over- she has a silky smooth touch with an effortless release out of her right hand. She is committed to Wayne State.
#30 Lexi Day Lexi Day 5'8" | CG Hortonville | 2021 WI | Hortonville | Wisconsin Blaze | 5’8 CG
Day is an incredibly phenomenal role player that has really found her groove recently. She is a smooth offensive standout who can put up big numbers any given night. Day has a high release point and she gets to her shot very quickly. When she is hitting, she can really be demoralizing to a team. She cuts off the ball extremely well. Even if she is not getting the ball, she forces the defense to move and adjust. She is a scrappy and pesky defender- using her length to deflect passes and alter shots of smaller guards. She moves her feet well on the perimeter, and she beats the opponent to the spot when they attack his hip. She has active hands, as she is frequently stripping the ball and creating fast break opportunities for her team.
#34 Maya White Eagle Maya White Eagle 5'7" | CG Madison Memorial | 2021 State WI | Madison Memorial | WI Flight Elite | 5’7 CG
White Eagle is a very balanced player that has one of the smoothest strokes in her class. Her shot form is textbook; it is fluid and very well put together from the bottom up. Her footwork into the shot is noticeable- she can consistently change from going on-two with her feet to jumping into her shot. This advanced skill is a major sign of a promising shooter and someone who is comfortable while guarded. However, White Eagle seems most comfortable when attacking the rim off the dribble. She works very well in a half-court system because of her ability to play her role. She’s a true point guard with a high basketball IQ.
#37 Geneva Hewitt Geneva Hewitt 5'8" | PG Winnebago Lutheran Lutheran | 2021 State WI | Winnebago Lutheran | 5’8 PG
Hewitt is an incredibly smooth guard that sees the game in slow motion. She plays with some of the best pace in the class, and this shows whenever she has the ball. She is phenomenal at handling pressure and continues to add crafty dribble moves to her bag. Hewitt can shoot the ball from deep and is confident taking the big shot. Hewitt was player of the year last season for her high school conference. She has a smooth motion of gathering the ball off the dribble and loading it to her set point; it is overall a very clean release and rotation. She has shown steady improvement in her athleticism over the years as well.
