Below is a list of posts in the recent rankings updates that have added value to their stock and are players to look for in the season ahead.
#13 Kiersten McNulty Kiersten McNulty 6'3" | PF Oshkosh West | 2021 State WI | 6’3 PF | Oshkosh West
McNulty is a high motor power forward that plays with loads of energy on the floor. She has a strongly built frame which allows her to be a physical player in the post, on defense and behind the arc. She is strong with the ball, and her grip strength on the ball is impressive. She grabs rebounds at a high rate and has really improved her timing and balance for blocking shots. She is a phenomenal athlete that has a high upside for developing into a 2-5 type player. Look forward to McNulty to add range to her shot and comfortability handling the ball on the perimeter.
#14 Paige Hodgson Paige Hodgson 6'3" | PF Beaver Dam | 2021 State WI | 6’3 PF | Beaver Dam
Hodgson has a high IQ and understands the in’s and out’s of the game; she’s mature physically and mentally, and she recognizes it in herself. She is a bruiser in the paint in terms of rebounding- she consistently pressures the opponents and is a force to box out because of her physicality. She is a strong player that finishes and fights through contract with ease as well; this will allow her to transition to college seamlessly. It is incredibly easy for her to overpower defenders, especially at the high school level. Hodgson has great body control for her size- she can play with power or with finesse. Lastly, her post series is developed, and this is becoming incredibly rare for modern power forwards.
#15 Sarah Lazar Sarah Lazar 6'3" | SF Madison Edgewood | 2021 State WI | 6’3 SF | Madison Edge Madison Edge 5'7" | SF North Cobb | 2020 State GA wood
Lazar is a jack-of-all trades player that does a bit of everything for her team. She has the ideal size and build for the modern small forward position. This gives her high potential for the future, and if she continues to develop, she will really be a top tier prospect at the next level. Lazar is comfortable in point forward roles, shown by the roles she plays in the high school game- she brings the ball up the floor, but she also finds herself in the paint and mid-post areas. Great feel for the game and a rebounding specialist for both her grassroots and high school season.
#17 Laura Nickel Laura Nickel 6'0" | PF Marshall | 2021 State WI | 6’0 PF | Marshall
Nickel had a breakout summer season and showed how high her ceiling will be at the next level. Her shooting is improving, and her shot form has become smooth and quick. She is a gifted athlete that can elevate like none other in the class. She has very good natural athleticism shown by her ability to finish above defenders and finish put-back baskets. She can put up so many points for her team and is crafty finding ways to finish inside. She’s added an impressive mid range jumper that is hard to stop.
#20 Aubrey Hatfield | 6’2 PF | Hudson
Hatfield has incredible mobility and movement for being 6’2. What she lacks in athletic ability (which is not much), she makes up for with fundamentals. She uses crafty post moves inside and has a steady reverse pivot that she has perfected. She has great footwork in the lane and ability to be patient and composed before selecting a shot. Hatfield moves well without the ball and is effective working with her point guards. She’s become comfortable handling the ball and having the ball on the perimeter. She’s a smart defender as well and will be an effective shot blocker at the next level.
