The 2021 class is no exception, the class is loaded with talent and whether top five or top 50 each player has something special to offer at the next level. Here is a break down of some of the top player, new comers and stock risers.
#5 Jada Walker Jada Walker 5'6" | PG Henrico | 2021 State #29 Nation VA – 5’6″ – Point Guard – Henrico
Seems strange to call Jada a stock riser as she’s been one of the nation’s best for years. A Michigan product in middle school she bounced from Virginia to Maryland and back. Her stock rose in Maryland before she made the move back to the commonwealth. The top heavy class still found room for the Kentucky commit to fall into the top five.
#6 Alyssa Andrews Alyssa Andrews 5'11" | PF Colgan | 2021 State VA – 6’1″ – Wing – Colgan
Alyssa made Colgan a thing last season and Virgina Tech took notice even with the COVID-19 shutdown. Alyssa has a nice perimeter touch and can attack the basket from the perimeter. She is a good rebounder with the ability to anticipate where the ball will land.
#10 Bella Perkins Bella Perkins 5'8" | PG Paul VI | 2021 State VA – 58″ – Point Guard – Paul VI
Great vision and a high IQ describes Bella. She kept the Panthers clicking all the way the the WCAC semi’s in what was anticipated to be a down year. She has a great shot with range and makes great decisions with the ball. She is a harrassing defender that plays the passing lanes well.
#12 Brianna Scott Brianna Scott 6'1" | SF South Lakes | 2021 State VA – 6’1″ – Small Forward – South Lakes
Brianna had a dominate high school season, however, she wasn’t able to continue to showcase her skill as the spring was shut shut down. She put up great numbers during the year and her ability to extend plays on the offensive glass increased her number of double-doubles.
#14 Sarah Thompson Sarah Thompson 5'8" | CG Gate City | 2021 State VA – 5’8″ – Combo Guard – Gate City
Being so closed to the Tennessee line a player can get overlooked at times. Video footage can go a long way as Sarah went from unranked to a top twenty player in the state. She has a good shoot from three and mid-range with a quick release, she weak side rebounds well and handles nicely in transition.
