Below is a list of players who stand out for their high energy and the way it impacts themselves and their teammates on the floor. These players compete at a high level and are successful while playing up tempo and high speed the entire game- on both ends.
#2 Emily La Chapell Emily La Chapell 5'11" | CG Appleton East | 2022 State #57 Nation WI
La Chapell is an elite combo guard that can get it done at either guard position. She has a snappy and quick handle that allows her to maneuver through players effortlessly. She is composed and patient with the basketball. La Chapell uses her pivot foot on offense better than any player in her class. She has a quick first step that grants her the ability to get by her defender with ease; this also makes her capable to stop on a dime, which she is great at.
#22 Trenna Cherney Trenna Cherney 5'10" | SF Reedsburg | 2022 State WI
Cherney is a versatile forward that brings a sense of uniqueness to the game. Her mobility is through the roof; she’s agile and light on her feet. Because of this, her versatility is very high. Her overall lanky frame gives her great ability as a shot blocker when guarding on the perimeter. She can really play inside and out which really helps her be an impact player on the floor. She excels on defense and has great footwork altering shots. She can make a huge impact on both ends- specifically her spacing on offense which is noticeably elite.
#27 Sarah Newcomer Sarah Newcomer 5'8" | CG Pewaukee | 2022 State WI
Newcomer is a new prospect that many should keep their eyes on, she’s a gifted athlete with so much upside. Newcomer has a deep bag of size-up moves in isolation situations. Because of her speed, defenders are forced to respect her dribble-drive. She has a very consistent jumper off the bounce in the midrange. Playing on a talented high school team opens up a lot of spot up three pointers, and she’s very consistent from there as well. She has great athleticism shown through her highlight finishes against contact and her ball handling on the perimeter.
#31 Jada Eggebrecht
Eggebrecht is an explosive and quick guard that plays with so much IQ on the floor. She understands the flow of the game and does well maintaining the tempo she is comfortable with. She does a tremendous job pushing the ball in transition and getting quick but efficient shots off. A great facilitator for her team, Eggebrecht knows how to get her teammates involved. She moves well with and without the ball, constantly cutting, using screens or hesitation dribbles to get her post players open. She’s fun to watch in transition as she pushes the ball up the court so effortlessly.
#46 Avery Poole Avery Poole 5'7" | PG Monona Grove | 2022 State WI
Poole has a solid future ahead of her for her high school and grassroots squad as her energy on the floor is contagious. She makes her teammates better. She’s a great communicator on the court and seems to have a genuine great feel for the game. This is shown through her intelligent shot selection and ability to play at a high level without forcing anything or causing multiple turnovers. She’s consistent on offense which makes her a super valuable player for her teams. She can put up huge numbers and is most certainly a “spark plug” type player- other teams should not let Poole heat up. Defensively she’s in your face and has fantastic footwork. She doesn’t gamble much on steals but her speed and active hands are usually enough to alter passes and shots.
