Below is a list of newcomers that have made the list of rankings this time around.
#35 Paige Werner Paige Werner 6'0" | PF Neenah | 2022 State WI | 6’0 PF
Game after game, Werner continues to do a great job attacking the basket. She is a relentless driver who is always looking for an opportunity to get to the basket and can beat defenders with either her speed or her quickness. She has the ability to bring her defender out to the perimeter and still effectively handle the ball. She seems to be becoming super comfortable with handling the ball and inhiate her own shot from behind the arc. She is solid in the lane as well and a fierce rebounder.
#39 Brooke Theis Brooke Theis 6'0" | C Shawano | 2022 State WI | 6’0 C
Theis has proven to be extremely versatile and athletic for the modern game. She is a high level athlete that can get up and down the court while still being a dominant force in the lane. What she lacks in height on the post, she makes up for in strength and power. When she’s taller than her defender, Theis becomes very hard to guard. She has great footwork for her position and is composed when making a move to finish at the rim. Theis is a solid defender as well and has great footwork when boxing out and chasing down boards.
#52 Mia Johnson Mia Johnson 5'6" | PG South Milwaukee | 2022 State WI | 5’5 PG
A quick and shifty point guard that is tricky to stick with. Johnson does a great job getting into the defense to score as well as distribute the ball. She is a super skilled passer that sees the floor tremendously well, especially on the move. She scored it well pulling up in the 8-10 foot range to finish right over bigger defenders during her season with South Milwaukee. Johnson helped lead her high school squad to the top of the conference.
#62 Jayla Butler Jayla Butler 5'6" | PG Milwaukee School of Languages | 2022 State WI | 5’6 PG
Butler is a good attacking point guard that both scores and distributes it nicely. She used her quickness and shifty moves to get herself plenty of paint touches this season. She showed smart play knowing when to kick it out when she faced taller defenders or when to draw the foul and finish at the free throw line. She always seems to know where to go with the ball to rack up assists as well.
#70 Kacey Ott Kacey Ott 6'0" | CG Slinger | 2022 State WI | 5’11 CG
Ott is a very balanced player that has a smooth shot on the perimeter. She’s super dynamic and has the ability to play 1-4 for her squad- super impressive. She’s a scoring machine and can take over a game at any movement. She’s a consistent finisher against contact as well. She has great athleticism and runs the floor in transition so well. She is incredibly explosive and can really fly when going down hill. She is not afraid to try new moves and experiment with her handle on the perimeter either.
