Jamia Harris Jamia Harris 5'7" | SG DeSoto | 2022 State TXHarris went completely off every time I saw her yet her performance at PBR The Prime Event left me with several lasting memories that I don’t even need notes for as she simply showed she could take over a game, with the mid to long or attacking and dropping the “floata” yet her mindset was she couldn’t be stopped and she was right but it didn’t stop on the offensive end, she defended baseline to baseline and played the passing lane
Bailey Maupin Bailey Maupin 5'10" | SG Gruver | 2022 State TXMaupin was added to the list sight unseen after I called a few college coaches to get their opinion on her and everything they told me was true as I caught her at The Blueprint. She has good size, she’s strong and she can punish, either attacking the basket or applying pressure on defense but she also can score, many different ways and watching her create the mid-range in the half-court, show the catch and shoot the long ball or the stop and pop in transition
Maurdaisha Powell Maurdaisha Powell 5'10" | SF Dulles | 2022 State TXPowell made my Tip Sheet in middle school, she showed a lot of promise and was long and athletic, remember, that’s the base however at the All Eyez On Me Individual Showcase, she crossed numerous bases as she has taken her game to new heights. Watching her not only attack the basket from the wing but glide towards it was very nice, she created her shot for the midrange as well as played the passing lane to a tee
Amira Mabry Amira Mabry 6'1" | PF Judson | 2022 State TXMabry is coming to her own and that’s scary because she too is long and athletic, stands above the magic number of 6’0, and probably has a 6’3 wingspan but she’s more aggressive, on both ends and showed she could not only finish after contact stronger but she also showed she could put it on the floor and attacks as well as face the basket and score. I’ve always loved her timing, that has even gotten better and what she did at The Prime Event sealed it
Jasmyn Lott Jasmyn Lott 5'8" | CG Memorial | 2022 State TXLott also had a huge Prime Event showing and her maturity definitely shows as she is just in a zone. I first saw the potential in middle school, she was long and athletic and was taking the ball coast to coast as well as showing she could shoot it but she’s even faster, with the ball, and her range has extended beyond the arc but playing the passing lane ties into speed with the ball as she comes up with layups galore
Savannah Velazquez Savannah Velazquez 5'5" | PG George Ranch | 2022 State TXVelazquez showed completely out at the Bigfoot Kingwood Classic and watching her dismantle defensive schemes was a treat for me. She has speed, yet add the turbo and I’m talking with the ball as she got to the rim whenever she wanted and finished with flair, usually for an “and one” opportunity but her long ball, her creating off the dribble as well as her assists ties into one thing, she makes those around her better
