College coaches as well as college prospects are often excited about this September 1st date as it is just like that, a first date, in many cases. While the list of student-athletes that have heard from colleges already is very long, below are some sure-fire Division 1 prospects that will be hearing from many Division 1 schools this week.
2022 6’2 SF Drea Brumfield Drea Brumfield 6'2" | SF WF West | 2022 State #72 Nation WA (WF West HS) – The versatile wing will be hearing from several more schools as her recruitment moves forward. She got her first taste of playing against some EYBL level teams this Summer and this will only help her development moving forward. She very much fits the mold of what Gonzaga oftentimes likes to recruit with her length, mobility and ranginess at 6’2.
2022 6’4 C Camille Jentzsch Camille Jentzsch 6'4" | C Lake Stevens | 2022 State WA (Lake Stevens HS) – One of the more impressive 2022’s this Summer as far as her growth from the previous year. Big Cam is getting more assertive in the post and finishing better as a result. She looks strong, healthy and solid all around. She will be hearing from several Division 1 schools regularly from here on out.
2022 6’4 PF Lauren Glazier Lauren Glazier 6'4" | PF Mt. Si | 2022 State WA (Mt. Si HS) – Another stock riser in the 2022 class. Glazier is looking more and more legit as a high major prospect as time goes along. She is still putting it all together, but her ceiling is so high as a 6’4 wing-forward. She is finishing a bit better around the basket, which is a good sign for her recruitment. More high major schools will be on Glazier during her junior year.
2022 6’2 PF Cori Wilcox Cori Wilcox 6'2" | PF Lake Stevens | 2022 State WA (Lake Stevens HS) – Another legitimate Division 1 prospect post in Washington’s 2022 class. Wilcox is about as tough and edgy as they come in the paint and that is why Lafayette College has already offered the junior. She has already been hearing from a handful of different Division 1 schools. She is a strong rebounder that can give her team extra possessions and she cleans up on the defensive end as well. Her mobility is improving some as well.
2022 5’8 PG Veronica Sheffey Veronica Sheffey 5'8" | PG Woodinville | 2022 State WA (Woodinville HS) – One of my favorite players in the class for Washington. Sheffey can hold her own with any guard in any class in the state. The lefty floor general can score from all three levels, she is a high level defender and rebounds strong for her position. Sheffey holds an offer from Portland and will be hearing from lots of Division 1 schools as her recruitment progresses. *Feature image
