They are both 5-8 point guards who showcased their skillsets up and down the East Coast.
Paris, who transferred from Albertus Magnus to Saddle River Day this offseason, is a scoring machine. She has an unbelievable first step, moves very well without the ball and her outside shot is automatic. She is the definition of a shoot-first point guard. Scoring comes easy for her and she gets buckets despite team’s game planning for her.
She was the best player at Joe Fenelon’s Friday Night Lights event. She was the leading scorer at The PRIME Event East.
Routine 30-point scoring burst earned her tweets from Dan Olson, World Exposure WBB and David Kent. The Team Rio star hung an eye-popping 38 points on Exodus’ 17U EYBL team.
And her crowing achievement of summer ball was being named the MVP of the No Boyz Allowed Labor Day Extravaganza.
While Paris is an unstoppable one-on-one player, Brooks excels at making everyone around her better. She would rather have 10 assists than 20 points and her teammates look like they enjoy playing with her. She can play the one, two or three, but regardless of position, her teams are best when she has the ball in her hands.
Brooks had a strong showing playing for Cardinals/Sharp at the NYG Tune Up.
She used the right combination of scoring and passing to guide a young Maryland Belles squad to a hard-fought USJN championship game loss against the Philadelphia Belles 16U team.
Her playmaking led the New Jersey Sparks to team titles at the Boo Williams Invitational and the Fall Finale.
She stamped herself as one of the state’s top prospects at the NYG Super 64 event.
Brooks took home Player of the Day honors after leading Trenton Catholic to a pair of wins at No Boyz Allowed, and she was named MVP at the Hoops4MS All-Star Game.
