Cassidy Geddes: The point guard from Newton-Conover high school was apart of a very special team in her freshman season. She and her teammates were set to play in the 2A state championship game before everything got put on hold. She was a leader as a freshman averaging 4.2 assists per game (as well as nearly 8 points per game as well). She has a high IQ already and a good feel for the game with the ball in her hands. She had over 50 more assists than turn overs on the season…as a freshman!! The sky is the limit for this one. She plays AAU for the Lady Phoenix organization.
Chandler Brooks Chandler Brooks 6'0" | PG 1 of 1 Prep Academy | 2023 State NC : The point guard from Providence Day School is another high IQ player. The lefty averaged 3.9 assists per game (with nearly 5 points and 4 boards). She controls the tempo of the game when the ball is in her hands. She can see the floor and speed up, or slow down when need be. She likes to push it in transition and get her teammates easy buckets. She is yet another one who had nearly 40 more assists than turnovers on the year. She has great potential and plays for coaches who demand the best already. She plays AAU for the 1 Dream organization.
Ally Hollifield Ally Hollifield 5'7" | CG Shelby | 2023 State NC : The guard from Shelby high school is a consistent 3 point threat, along with being able to dish it out. She averaged 2.9 assists per game last season (while shooting 34% from 3, and tallying over 12 points per game). Like her peers, Ally has a high IQ, and an older sister to show her the ropes. She plays hard at all times which is what helps make her so successful. Being a knock down shooter, when defenses swarm her it opens up the rest of her teammates, which is how she is able to make quick decisions and get them the ball. She should have her pick of schools when it is all said and done, but until then she is someone to watch for the next 3 years. She plays AAU for the Carolina Elite organization.
Mia Xerras Mia Xerras 5'6" | CG Myers Park | 2023 State NC : The point guard from Myers Park high school had a breakout freshman year. She averaged 2.5 assists per game (to go along with her nearly 9 points and 2 steals per game). She was a real play maker for the Mustangs this past season. She was a knock down 3 point shooter at 54% on the year, which again like her peers, made it easier for her to get assists. When defenses learned that she was deadly from beyond the arc and swarmed her, she made the easy plays and passes for her teammates. An unselfish, consistent shooter is just what college coaches need. She plays AAU for the Team Curry organization.
Kyla Bryant Kyla Bryant 5'8" | CG Salisbury | 2023 State NC : The point guard from Salisbury high school was a stat sheet stuffer this last season. Averaging 2.3 assists per game (add to that 13 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals) she did it all. She has great size and athletic ability. She is capable of setting her teammates up for easy points, and likes to get out and run. She showed great signs of leadership and being comfortable directing a team this past year. She is a feisty defender, and turns her steals into buckets. Salisbury might be small, but she and her teammates go hard and play big. She plays AAU for the Team Felton organization.
