Over the next several days, I will take a look at the participants who shined and caught the eye of the scouts in the gym. Today, some quick hitters from the Orange team in the morning session. PGH Ohio writer Angie Saiter was also in attendance and will be posting her thoughts on some of the teams also over the next few days.
Evan Platfoot, 5-7 2024, Plain City Jonathan Alder
One of the hardest workers at the event and only an incoming freshman. Impressive all around game for her age, has a good shot. Can also get to the rim and score. Good ceiling and future at the high school level. Good intensity!
Emily Adams, 6-0 2021, Middletown Fenwick
Very strong around the rim, good footwork and a solid scorer at the rim. Efficient rebounder and defends well in the paint. She has committed to the Air Force Academy.
Haley Crozier Haley Crozier 5'6" | CG Springboro | 2022 OH , 5-7 2022, Springboro
Very good handles with the motor of a kid who wont quit. Can score from the perimeter from deep. Solid on-ball defender, great work ethic. Good basketball IQ. Has improved since last year, always in the gym getting better.
Amelia Herrmann, 5-11 2022, Quaker Valley (PA)
Her game has really improved from the last time I saw her. One of the hardest workers in the event. Uses her body well in the paint, smart player who can score in a variety of ways. Game continues to improve. Played for quality SLAAM AAU program out of Pittsburgh.
Stephanie Altstetter, 5-10 2023, Indian Lake
First time I have seen her play. Rising post who impressed us with her play in the paint. Good body control around the rim as her game continues to grow. Runs the floor well. Competed and I expect a breakout season for her is possible.
Mia Patterson, 5-4 2024, Beavercreek
The two most impressive things from this incoming freshman are exactly what a guard is supposed to do. She has solid ball handling skills and she has good communication skills with her teammates. Plays in a very good system at Beavercreek, hoping she just continues to get better whatever level she plays at this year as a freshman.
Lexee Brewer, 5-5 2023, Sidney
Incredible athlete who also is a standout on the soccer field. Lexee is an aggressive player with solid handles and good floor leadership. Can score from both the perimeter and will get to the rim. Solid defender.
Riley Hodson, 5-9 2023, Valley View
Her game has grown! An athletic player (pictured above on defense/photo by PGH Ohio’s Angie Saiter) with a lot of tools. Excellent perimeter shooter, and a very smart player on the court. Always looking to make herself better. Can defend both a guard or a forward. Runs the floor well, high ceiling for Riley. Great attitude about the game!
Emma Hess Emma Hess 6'0" | SF Legacy Christian Academy | 2021 State OH , 6-0 2021, Legacy Christian
The Liberty University recruit, Emma was the best player in the building. So smooth and can play any position on the court. Strong in transition, can score from all three phases including a great midrange shot, incredible moves around the rim and a deep three shot.
Bree Kidd, 5-6 2023, Fairfield
Plays above her years as she understands how to make good cuts to the rim. A physical guard and even with her size, she is efficient around the rim. Can get to the hole and has a strong ability to finish. Good basketball IQ and exciting to see her continue to grow. Coaches take a look at her.
