Continue ReadingDespite the relatively slow summer basketball scene in Massachusetts due to the ongoing Covid restrictions in the area, there are still a few fortunate members of the Class of 2021 and Class of 2022 that have already made their college choices. Here is a look at a few of the local student athletes who have already committed. Congrats to these amazing girls. We look forward to adding to this last as more college commitments roll in.
Abby Miller Abby Miller 5'6" | PG Millis | 2021 State MA – Millis – Mass Mavericks – This 5’6’’ point guard will be a great fit for the Beavers of Babson College who are coming off of an 18 win season. Abby is a pass first left handed guard that can lead her team. Also an excellent scorer as she can get to the basket and finish in transition. The 23rd ranked player in Massachusetts scored 13 points per game last winter at Millis. Abby’s father Matt was an outstanding player at Babson.
Reese Cordero Reese Cordero 5'6" | SG Whitman -Hanson | 2021 State MA – Whitman Hanson – MT Elite Ducks – 5’9’’ combo guard plays with high energy on both ends of the floor. An excellent passer who can face the basket and shoot it well from beyond the arc. Reese who is the 59th ranked player in the Class of 2021 in Massachusetts will be attending Division 3 Roger Williams University in Rhode Island.
Bri Frongillo Bri Frongillo 5'3" | PG Hopedale | 2022 State NewE – Hopedale – Bay State Jaguars – 5’3’’ point guard not only leads her team, but is an absolute scoring machine. The Class of 2022 10th ranked player in the state of Massachusetts has already scored her 1,000 point and just this week committed to Division 1 Bryant University.
Talia Davis Talia Davis 6'0" | SF Rivers | 2021 State MA – Rivers – Lady Rivals – The 6’ foot small forward will be a great addition to Division 1 University of New Hampshire. An excellent defender she does a great job protecting the basket and can also score in a bunch of ways including shooting the ball beyond the arc. Talia is currently the 8th ranked player in the state of Massachusetts in the Class of 2021.
CeCe Kinney CeCe Kinney 6'3" | C Rivers | 2021 State MA – Rivers – Lady Rivals – 6’3’’ Center is an outstanding finisher around the basket and also has a smooth finishing touch. Athletic on defense , she blocks shots and can control the glass. The number 9 ranked player in Massachusetts in the Class of 2021 has committed to Virginia Union a Division 2 member school.
Ayah Harper Ayah Harper 5'5" | PG Dexter Southfield | 2021 State MA – Dexter Southfield – Lady Rivals – This 5’5’’ point guard is amazing in transition as she can finish at the rim or drop a dime to a teammate to score. High energy on both ends will not doubt be an excellent addition to Tufts University. She is the 6th ranked player in Massachusetts Class of 2021.
Tova Gelb Tova Gelb 5'8" | SG Maimonides | 2021 State MA – Maimonides – MT Elite Ducks – 5’8’’ shooting guard can stroke it from anywhere as evident by her already 1,500 career points in high school. The 38th ranked player in Massachusetts from the class of 2021 will be a great fit at Division 3 Vassar College in New York.
Elizabeth Gill Elizabeth Gill 6'1" | SF Westwood | 2021 State MA – Westwood – MT Elite Ducks – 6’1’’ center is the former MVP of the Tri Valley League and she is coming back strong from an injury. Great touch around the basket and can take the jumper out to 15 feet. The 31st ranked player in Massachusetts will be an amazing fit at D3 Bowdoin College.
