It also becomes very serious as colleges buckle down on recruiting and try to entice these players to join their programs. Join us as we continue to look at 5 more Juniors forwards who can stand out this upcoming year.
Aaliyah Ojeda-Brown- Forward 5’8″- Georgetown Day School
While a little on the smaller side, Aaliyah uses her great strength to create space down low to grab loads of rebounds. Additionally, she can be categorized as a hustle player who is always willing to dive for loose balls. Look for her to continue to develop her scoring repertoire both in the post and the midrange.
Zaiha Minnis Zaiha Minnis 5'10" | SF Maret | 2022 State MD – Small Forward 5’10″- Maret
Another talented Maret player, Zaiha can light up the scoring sheet when she gets hot. Phenomenal at getting to the line she knocks down free throws with consistency that will translate to her outside shot falling more. She also has a very high IQ for the game and makes good decisions with the ball whether feeding her teammates, making the extra pass, or driving to the rim.
Kamari Campbell- 6’1″ Forward- Dunbar
While Kamari doesn’t have a ton of experience yet her skill set has improved tremendously over the past year. Last year she featured mostly as a rim protector and rebounder who helped start breaks for a quick Dunbar team. This year she has improved footwork in the post and her jump shot from the mid-range and from deep leading to her being even more of a scoring threat. While there is still room for improvement, Kamari looks poised for a big jump in her junior year.
Nailah McBeth Nailah McBeth 5'10" | SF Georgetown Visitation | 2022 State MD – 5’11″ Forward- Georgetown Visitation
Nailah’s stock has been steadily rising as her game has matured out on the wing. She was already a good interior scorer with nice touch, a phenomenal rebounder, and a very solid defender last year. She has also worked hard on improving her range out beyond the three-point arc and becoming more confident in her shot. She has all the skills necessary to make a leap to being one of the best players in the area this upcoming season.
