Isabella Tanedo Isabella Tanedo 5'4" | PG St. John's College | 2022 State MD – Point Guard 5’4″- St. John’s
Isabella, simply put, is one of the best shooters around. She can manufacture her own shot or knock down catch and shoot jumpers from all over the court. Look for her to make a name for herself on the defensive end as well as her quick hands and feet allow her to hound the opposition and become an excellent on-ball defender.
Zy’aire Hariston- Guard 5’6″- Dunbar
Coming off a phenomenal sophomore season where she led Dunbar in points per game, assists, and steals, there is little doubt that Zy’aire will take an extra leap this year. A true combo guard who sets up teammates well, attacks the rim hard, and can create her own shot from outside. She has a great work ethic and feel for the game which will allow her to become even more successful this season.
Latrice Yates- Guard 5’6″- Bell Multicultural
The only returning junior for Bell Multicultural, look for Yates to be a true leader for a very young team. From running point and handling pressure to defending the post she’s a good glue player who does a little bit of everything in order to help the team win. With improved shooting coming into the year she could stand out even more for her team.
Janya Tuckson- Point Guard 5’4″- Thurgood Marshall Academy
Lesser known in basketball circles, Janya is a fundamentally sound point guard who is a great facilitator and runs the offense. Even in high-pressure situations she manages to keep a clear head and helps keep the team together. She rarely turns the ball over and consistently gets to the line. While her jumper still needs some work she is a calming presence for a young Thurgood Marshall team.
Jaylen Hunter- Point Guard 5’4″- Dunbar
Another high energy player for a talented Dunbar team, Jaylen consistently plays hard on both ends of the floor. She is a disrupting force on defense forcing turnovers with good hands and quick feet. She also has great vision where she uses her pass first tendencies to get her teammates involved and set them up to succeed. You can’t forget her scoring either she attacks the rim relentlessly while still having the ability to pull up from different levels.
Alexandra Elridge- Combo Guard 5’8″- Georgetown Visitation
One of the hardest workers for Georgetown Visitation, Alexandra has a lot of potential to continue improving in her junior season. Already a good 3 point shooter and ball-handler, she has improved her energy level on defensive as well as her footwork. She also feeds her teammates to the point where she will sometimes neglect her own shot in favor of others. Even though she has already improved a ton from the beginning of the season last year and she is poised to make yet another jump this season.
