Trinity Mathis was a dominant player in the post moving her feet well to position herself in order to make the best move. She was aggressive when going against contact and fought through her opponents to grab rebounds. She was also vocal on the floor directing people where they need to watch their back when she was in the back of the team’s press. Her blocks on defense would consistently end the possession for Team Peak.
Zoe Henderson Zoe Henderson 5'11" | SF Northside Christian | 2023 NC was a great defender jumping into passing lanes and dominating the other team when pressing. She also showed off her shot on offense creating points for herself, and she saw the floor well making passes to get her teammates involved. She showed leadership as well controlling the tempo of the game. When pushing the ball up the court, she made the best decisions about where to go with the ball to make some fast break points, and she had some old fashioned three point play opportunities going up against tough contact.
Aubrey Stevenson is a speedy guard who pushes the ball up the court whether she is dribbling or making amazing passes to her teammates for the fast break. She created these opportunities for herself with steals showing smart defense, and she seemed to be a problem for the other team anywhere she was on the court.
Ariana Perry was a strong shooter from all over the court from behind the arc to long jump shots inside the arc. She created separation from her opponents with ease except for when she was on defense creating problems for the other team to get by her.
Kayla Decker was a lockdown defender making it difficult for Team Peak to get up the court against their press. She hit several crucial shots in the game when Team Curry was trying to pull away. She even had a few blocks.
Dearia Page is a sneaky guard who jumps into passing lanes. When guarding someone one on one, it is common to see her pick their pocket and take the ball the other way for some easy points. She was aggressive on the other end of the court, too, when handling the ball and driving inside. When moving without the ball, she found the open spots to get the pass thrown her way.
Abigail Jones for Team Peak was inside making her name known grabbing rebounds and showing off her moves. She has a great up and under move that she used to score several times, and she was not shy about going up against contact. She moves well without the ball and comes into the pass when the ball is thrown her way.
Kate Sears controlled the ball for Team Peak most of the game and showed her ability to make great passes inside. She showed good vision bringing the ball up and was patient when deciding the best way to beat the press from Team Curry. Her leadership was on display when she was showing her teammates the best places on the court to move in order to make a play.
Brooke Scheffler hit some big shots including behind the arc when her team needed the points most. She was aggressive handling the ball and driving, especially along the baseline and into the middle. She was aware of the best places for her to move in order to contribute to her team. She moved well on defense jumping into passing lanes and preventing players from going by her. Scheffler was able to grab some tough rebounds extending the possession for her team.
