Whether it’s creating your own shot or catching and shooting, getting 3-pointers is extremely beneficial to any team. Let’s take a look at some of the top returning 3-point shooters in New Jersey.
Jessica Riepe, Marlboro, Sr. – Riepe was New Jersey’s top shooter a season ago, knocking down 97 triples. She hit a 3-pointer in every game but one, and she finished with seven 3-pointers in two games — wins over South Brunswick and Freehold Borough. In total, Riepe put in 369 points on the season. She can step back and shoot or just knock one down from deep over a defender. She is extremely unselfish and finds her teammates. Riepe can score at will from the perimeter on any given night, and she’ll be a player to watch this upcoming season.
Kelly Andreasen, Pascack Valley, Sr. – Andreasen finished in the top five last year in New Jersey with 84 long-range shots. She put in eight 3-pointers in two games, both wins over Dwight-Morrow and Holy Angels. She had over 30 points in both games. Andreasen has the ability to catch fire in any game, and she’ll be a top shooter in the state this season.
Saniah Caldwell Saniah Caldwell 5'8" | PG Saddle River Day | 2022 State #52 Nation NJ , Saddle River Day, Jr. — Caldwell had a monster sophomore year for Saddle River Day. She totaled 81 3-pointers overall, and scored 536 points. She knocked down six triples in victories over East Orange, Lincoln, Morristown-Beard and Montclair Immaculate. Caldwell will look to build off a terrific sophomore campaign.
Maura Carney, Jackson Liberty, Sr. – Carney put in 79 3s a season ago. Her season-best was seven against Donovan Catholic in February. She hit at least one triple in every game last season.
Kennedy Jardine, Hun, Sr. – Jardine finished with 71 3-pointers last year for Hun in Princeton. She hit a triple in every game last season, and her season-best was six in a game against George (Pa.) where she totaled 28 points.
