Mone Florence Mone Florence 5'8" | CG Eagle's Landing | 2021 State GA (2021) came off the bench and was immediately making an impact for her team. On defense, she was wreaking havoc causing deflections and grabbing steals making it difficult for her opponent to even get a shot up. Additionally, she showed great IQ sliding into help positions on defense when her teammates needed her to have their backs. She crashed the boards after each shot on both ends of the court and had several second chance opportunities that she converted for two points. She was constantly pushing the ball up the court on fast breaks and was ready for the pass if she wasn’t the one who had initially grabbed the steal or rebound. On set offenses, she showed some nice fakes to get around her defenders and put up her jump shot or drive it all the way to the lane.
Kaleigh Addie Kaleigh Addie 5'7" | PG Greater Atlanta Christian School | 2022 State #66 Nation GA (2022) was a tenacious defender causing problems for her opponents jumping into passing lanes or stealing the ball off of a dribble. She had several fast break opportunities where she would find her open teammate or take it all the way herself. She certainly controlled the tempo of the game for her team and was a great leader to help her team obtain and keep the lead.
Jayda Low (2021) was very fast running the floor, and she used that to her advantage when playing defense. She was constantly running with guards knocking the ball out of their hands creating steals which quickly turned into fast break opportunities. She used the speed on offense as well to get lost from her opponent when they were trying to guard her. This was also seen when she was crashing the boards looking for second chance opportunities.
Dayuna Colvin Dayuna Colvin 5'9" | PG North Cobb | 2022 State GA (2022) was all over the opponents on defense jumping in front of passes or flying across the court to catch the pass. On offense, she was an asset, too, showing off her shot from downtown.
Jada Session Jada Session 6'1" | PF Luella | 2021 State GA (2021) was an aggressive player who make strong moves inside and was persistent in fighting for the rebound. She was constantly moving, and she was hustling after every loose ball trying to gain possession again for her team. She also jumped into passing lanes creating steals that she pushed up the court for some transition points.
Raven Thompson Raven Thompson 5'9" | SF Langston Hughes | 2022 State GA (2022) was a strong opponent inside being aggressive with her moves in order to score. She was persistent with grabbing rebounds for her team, and she was agile jumping into passing lanes to grab steals. She was running up and down the floor well being ready for the pass on fast breaks or being there to rebound if she was needed. She had a nice block in the game, too, seeming to jump out of nowhere to make the play.
Jaci Bolden (2022) seemed to have a highlight reel on repeat with her steals that turned into solo fast break opportunities for her. The opponents did not seem to know how to keep the ball out of her hands. When she did have to play set offenses, she had some nice fakes that turned into drives down the paint. She was a hustler, too, diving after any loose balls.
Cierra Foster Cierra Foster 5'6" | PG Holy Innocents' Episcopal School | 2021 State GA (2021) had an arsenal of moves that she could use on fast breaks like a nice Euro step, hesitation move, or simply speed that allowed her to get to the basket. Many of these fast breaks came from her own steals where she was jumping in front of players trying to get the pass to their teammates. She always had good position on her opponents constantly moving her feet and her hands when guarding someone making sure they did not have any easy opportunities.
For Wilkes Hoop Group, Jayden Jones was a great inside presence. At 6’1,” she could post up anyone underneath the basket showing some nice spin moves to score or even good up and under moves to make her points. She was a rebounding machine for her team and showed that she can aggressively box out anyone who is trying to guard her. Her shot was on display, too, from downtown showing she is an offensive threat from all over the court. On defense, she used her length to jump into passing lanes and create steals ending the possession for her opponents.
Maddie Gillie was one of their main ball handlers pushing the ball up the court using some nice behind the back dribbles to protect the possession. She created some nice separation between her and her defender in order to show off her shot. She showed no fear driving against contact down the lane.
Jianna Holmes was another ball handler for Wilkes Hoop Group pushing the ball up the court weaving in and out of opponents on fast breaks. She was very hard to stop and to even get rattled. On defense, she created some steals that she also turned into fast break opportunities.
