These players’ ceilings are high and they will open eyes in their recruiting process. Rebounding is a skill that can add tremendous value to any team and set a squad in a better position to when a lot of games.
Young and still improving in the game of basketball, let’s take a look at some of the top 2023 rebounders.
Maddisyn Miller (Plateau Valley)
Miller is one of the top scorers on her team averaging 11.6 points per game in her freshman debut last season. She also lead the team in rebounding with 8.8 rebounds per game. Standing at 5-foot-6 she came up with a season high in rebounds 14 towards the end of the season. Miller finished her freshman season grabbing a total of 141 rebounds, also led the team in steals per game with 3.1 steals.
Lexi McCullough (Wiggins)
McCullough standing at 5-foot-10 has great length to her game making it tough for teams to keep her off the glass. She was the team leader in rebounds averaging 8.5 per game. McCullough was one of the team leader in points per game putting 6.3 per game. On a team that spreads out their scoring she went 41-of-92 (45 percent) from the floor, and 90 of those attempts were inside. She was able to get a season high in rebounds towards the end of the season totaling 16, and a total of 136 throughout the season.
Emma Seagraves (Hayden)
Seagraves is a player that has been proving that she can make her presence known at the varsity level. She shows that she can run the floor in transition well, and has a good feel for the ball. She is able to get her hands on a lot of steals with her ability to anticipate passes. She averaged 2.1 steals per game, and led her team in rebounding last year grabbing 7.4 rebounds per game. Seagraves grabbed a season high in rebounds totaling 15 towards the end of the season. To go along with that 15 rebounds she put 16 points going 8-of-13 (62 percent) from the field.
Torrai Logan Torrai Logan 5'7" | SF Sierra | 2023 State CO (Mitchell)
Playing in a tough league, Logan proves that she can hold her own standing at 5-foot-7. She led her team in rebounding last year with 7.3 rebounds per game. Logan is a player that shows that she knock down shots from anywhere on the floor, and stretch the floor with her three point shooting. She shot the ball from behind the arc 50-of-169 (30 percent) to lead the team in three point shooting. She also grabbed a season high in rebounds twice in the season totaling 12 early in the season last year.
Brooke McDonald (Walsh)
Joining her teammates among the best rebounders in class of 2023 is Brooke McDonald. She is the second leader in rebounds per game behind Renquist (10.6 rebounds per game). McDonald grabbed 7.2 rebounds per game, and a season high of 13 in the beginning of the season last year. She also averaged 6.9 points per game, and was able to come up with a total of 65 rebounds in the season. McDonald standing at 5-foot-4 she plays with a lot of heart, and will look to continue to do the little things to help her team.
