The first team is West Coast Premier, their starting five girls that we watched play are all committed to colleges already and the list is pretty impressive. The other prospects will be scattered in by their teams, we enjoyed watching some much needed basketball in Vegas, appreciate the hospitality from the event directors.
2021, 5’9, SG, Corona Centennial HS, Trinity San Antonio Trinity San Antonio 5'9" | SG Corona Centennial | 2021 State CA – (Committed to Cal Baptist) Trinity is that slender guard that is going to get you points going to the basket, knock down that three pointer off the catch or the dribble. She is excellent getting to the basket on her opponents, but her specialty is being a lock down defender for her team. She will pickup the best player from the other team and press them 94 feet, now all coaches want a kid that can do that and still score on the offensive end of the floor. She earned her stripes this last two years and that is why she will be playing in the WAC, could be a candidate for the Freshman of the Year.
2021, 5’6, SG, Mater Dei HS, Alyssa Frescas Alyssa Frescas 5'8" | SG Mater Dei | 2021 State CA – (Committed to UNLV) Alyssa is that shooter on the floor that you cannot leave open, cause if you do, it might as well be a layup for her. She is the three point specialist on that high-powered Mater Dei team and she has been that for them since she stepped in the door. Do not get me wrong, she can put the ball on the floor and get by you, she can pull up and knock down the midrange and is improving as a defender every time I see her play. She is going to UNLV to be a shooting guard and she can log many minutes if she can knock those shots down at the college level, we believe she will be successful at it.
2021, 5’6, PG, Corona Centennial HS, Jayda Curry Jayda Curry 5'6" | PG Corona Centennial | 2021 State CA – (Committed to Cal Berkeley) Jayda is the dynamic point guard that everyone loves to watch because her game is so electric and almost addictive to the fact you just keep on coming back to see her games. Well it might be true, fans love to watch this kid play and I hope that she takes that same intensity to the next level and help the fan base at Cal. She can handle the ball, she can shoot the long deep three and is improving on that midrange pull up each and every time I see her play. She is defensively gifted and can hold her opponent if she wants to really lock them up, which really sets her apart from some of the other point guards in her class. She will be successful at the next level it is a definite.
2021, 6’4, PF/C, Harvard Westlake HS, KiKi Iriafen KiKi Iriafen 6'4" | C Harvard Westlake | 2021 State #11 Nation CA – (Committed to Stanford) Kiki is a super skilled post with a bevy of talents in the paint, agile, fast strong and very aggressive on the floor and it dominate in every way. She can run the floor seal her opponent and score, then run the floor and pin your shot on the backboard. She has great hands in the paint and can finish over the left and right shoulder as well as turn and face you with a nice 8 to 10 midrange shot over her opponent.
2021, 6.0, PF, Bishop Montgomery HS, Khylee Pepe Khylee Pepe 6'1" | PF Bishop Montgomery | 2021 State CA – (Committed to Pepperdine) Khylee is that big forward type that can put it on the floor as well as pull up for a jumper in your face. She is skilled with the ball handling, she can shoot the midrange shot and also knock down the three pointer when needed. She has a college size body already and she already knows how to use it to dominate her defenders on the floor. She can guard 3 to 5 and is agile on the floor to run you down and cut you off and she is capable of blocking shots on the floor from the guard trying to get a shot off against her. She can shoot it and she will help Pepperdine stretch the floor out at that position.
2021, 5’11, PG, West Torrance HS, Anaya James Anaya James 5'9" | PG West Torrance | 2021 State CA – (Committed to U of Pacific) Anaya is that long and slender point guard with excellent vision and savvy to her game which allows for her to be so good. She can create off the dribble, she can stop and pop the midrange shot, but her specialty is coming down the floor and giving her teammate the most nicest dime ever for a basket. She is the coaches dream at the point guard, because she is a two-way player, she can lock you up in a heartbeat and showed that many times this past weekend. She can shoot from all three level on the floor and there is not much more we can say, she will do great things at U of Pacific.
2021, 5’11, CG, Valencia HS, Mailey Ballard Mailey Ballard 5'10" | SG Valencia HS | 2021 State CA – (Highly Recruited) Mailey is the toughest kid on the floor at all times, she is tenacious, she is aggressive and will stop at nothing to stop you on the floor on the defensive end. She can score in bunches, she can catch and shoot the three pointer, she can swing thru and pop the midrange and she is efficient at getting to the rim and finishing thru contact. Her specialty is shooting the three pointer, she is money from deep and she showed us some of that this weekend with her team. I saw her finish at the rim this weekend and put in on the floor with some one or two dribble pull up for baskets. Also saw her play some point guard this weekend and she was proficient at it.
2021, 6’0, SF, Fairmont Prep Academy, Makaila Glynn Makaila Glynn 6'0" | PF Fairmont Prep HS | 2021 State CA – Makaila is quite a raw specimen that exudes all the athleticism possible for a player of her caliber. She is a very athletic and is as agile as a gazelle on the floor as she runs to pin down her opponent in the paint. She can rebound the ball and push the break at her size, but she has been taught how to play, she immediately gets the ball to the guards and runs to the block. She can make plays and set screens for her team, but she is very capable of scoring in the post area with great consistency.
2021, 5’7, PG, Leuzinger HS, D’arrah Allen D’arrah Allen 5'7" | PG Leuzinger | 2021 State CA – D’arrah is a quick athletic guard with a lot of skills at her disposal, she is tough, she is fierce and she is a dog on the floor. She can get to the rim and leave you in the dust with her speed, she can pull up and knock down the midrange jumpshot. D’arrah three point shot is consistent and she is not afraid to put in up if you back up off of her and is can also shoot it off the dribble or the catch. She is a decent defender and her best attribute on the floor is her electrifying way she plays, she is a highlight reel waiting to happen.
2021, 5’9, PG, Antelope HS, Jzaniya Harriel Jzaniya Harriel 5'10" | PG Antelope Valley HS | 2021 State #66 Nation CA – (Committed to Stanford) Jzaniya can play the game, she is crafty with the ball and runs her team to perfection, but do not get me wrong with her, she showed us she can score it as well. Her pull up three pointer is deadly and her silky drives to the basket make her a problem on the floor. Her passing ability is pretty good and she seems to be never rattled, but we would like to see her assist more often to teammates, she will have to do that on the next level.
2021, 6’0, SF, Redwood HS, Kylie Horstmeyer Kylie Horstmeyer 6'0" | SG Redwood City | 2021 State CA – (Committed to USD) Kylie is multi skilled in the paint and on the perimeter, she can break you down off the dribble or pull up a midrange shot in your face. She runs the floor like a guard and is agile in the open floor, she is skilled down low as well with both hands and is a threat to score each every time she has the ball. She will need to be more of a defender in college, but she is not having those types of problems right now at the high school and club level.
