We enjoyed watching some much needed basketball in Vegas, appreciate the hospitality from the event directors.
2023, 5’10, PG, Xavier Prep HS, Genna Wienecke – Genna is a legitimate point guard for her size and body type, she has great ball skills and great vision on the floor which led to her great shooting. She is definitely a key player on her club team this season and does a lot of good things on the floor for her team that contributes to wins. She will be a new addition in the 2023 Class of the PGH Rankings coming out in about 2 weeks, look out for it.
2023, 6’3, PF/C, Valencia HS, Nadia Bernard – Nadia is improving rapidly standing at 6’3, she is definitely a site to see with her size and mobility on the court. She has a strong college type body and I believe she is still growing which leads to her great rebounding and shot blocking skills. If you come in the paint and try for a layup, she is sending it into the stands, she might even shake her finger at you like Matumbo, just kidding, she is a force when it comes to shot blocking.
2023, 6’0, C, Carlsbad HS, Brooklyn Kelly – Skilled post player with the ability to score with either hand in the post, was very skilled in the paint and showed it in the games we watched. Had a knack for scoring in the paint with either hand which is a good skill to have at the next level. She is also a great rebounder for her team, could get rebounds out of position and put back.
2023, 5’8, SG, Oceanside HS, Nevaeh Mageo – She can put the ball on the floor and create off the dribble, which allows her to get anywhere she wanted on the floor. She was pretty good on the defensive end of the floor, knew how to play help side and was always in the correct spots on the floor. She also impressed us by the couple of three pointer she hit from the perimeter of the bounce and off the catch. Her free throws can stand to improve a little, but this girl is solid.
