Continue ReadingI know kids and have seen kids fighting just to get an opportunity from a college coach, to knowing of highly recruited young women that have been receiving scholarship offers to many different colleges. Still each year there are always player that go unnoticed and do not get the credit or exposure they deserve. So I’m going to give you 10 sophomores that has the potential to play college basketball someday. The players will be from different positions and skill levels, but each one of them has the potential to play at the next level.
6”0| G/F| Seventy First High| Hannah Lewis Lewis has the skills of a shooting guard. She can catch and shoot beyond the arc from any where on the court. Has a nice touch that will fit in with a lot of college systems.
5”8| G| Terry Sanford| Amiah Savage
Savage is a good shooter with excellent range. She’s an active defender that steps in passing lanes, and can push the ball in transition to score.
6”6 | C | Seventy First High | Jasmine Wallace
Wallace is tough in the paint, causing problems for opponents. She alters opponents shots causing them to miss their shots. She is great on the boards clearing everything that comes off the glass.
6”2 | PF | Seventy First High |Taylour Bethea
Bethea is flat out a tough low post player. The tough rebounder has the ability to finish left, right over each shoulder in the paint. She can step out and knock down the mid range jumper.
5”6 | SG | Village Christian | Khalen Williams
Williams is really growing as a player. She’s a scoring threat for Village Christian and she makes the defense account for her at all times. Her speed and hard nose defense is one her best assets.
5”9 | G | Leesville High |Kyla McGhee
McGhee is a player that is willing to do what ever it takes to win. Solid in shooting the mid range jumper. Can push the ball in the open floor and a great leader on the court.
5”7 | CG | St. David Christian | Kyra Parker
Everything about Parker says “college player”. She’s a versatile guard who can score the ball and can guard multiple positions on the other end.
5”5 | PG | Cardinal Gibbons |Rhian Lawarence
An incredibly talented backcourt guard, Lawarence displays the skills of a point guard who can run a team. She’s crafty and smart PG who is talented as a next level prospect.
5”5 | PG | E.E. Smith | Tamia Morris
Never doubt a EE Smith Bulldog point guard. There’s a track record here and Harris will continue it. Her smooth handles helps her create find the open space to score or find her teammates.
5”6 | PG | Trinity Christian School | LeAsia Matthews
Matthews tough man to man defense locks a lot of her opponents up. Matthews a fast combo guard that can get down the floor putting pressure on the defense.
