It has been an interesting travel ball season to say the least. Whether we had seem them before or saw them for the first time, these are the players that caught our eyes, added something to their game, and saw their ranking rise!
2021
Chaniya Clark Chaniya Clark 6'2" | PF Fort Myers | 2021 State #96 Nation FL (Fort Myers HS / Team Knight 17U) – Verbally committed to NC A&T
Calling Clark a stock riser is a bit of an oxy moron. Clark, aka Baby Shaq, has been on colleges radars since 8th grade. The 6’4 post has a rare combination of size, mass, skill, athleticism, and versatility. She moves exceptionally well for her size and has great hands and really good footwork. She played with Team Knight for the 2020 travel season and was a major interior force. The committed to NC A&T spring 2020.
Bella Weary Bella Weary 5'6" | CG DME | 2021 State FL (DME Academy / East Coast United North Florida 2021 Clarke) – Verbally committed to USF
Weary was a new face for us this summer and she did not disappoint. The recent USF commit is a strong, athletic, high IQ, 5’7 shooting guard who can drop buckets! She does a great job of getting her teammates involved in the offense while still finding ways to score. She is a skilled player who makes excellent decisions on the court and has good vision.
Cheyenne Stubbs Cheyenne Stubbs 5'7" | CG Braden River | 2021 State FL (Sarasota HS / Team Knight 17U)
Previous opportunities to evaluate Stubbs showcased her ability to set her teammates up in scoring positions and being really good in ball screens. This travel season she really showcased her ability to stretch opponents’ defenses by knocking down the 3. Stubbs is one of the state’s top uncommitted prospects.
2022
Amiya Evans Amiya Evans 6'2" | PF DME Academy | 2022 State FL (Tampa Bay Tech / Miami Suns Team Fowles 17U)
Evans has made the move from Essence to Miami Suns after a big Sophomore year at Tampa Bay Tech. The daughter of NBA veteran and Big 3 star Reggie Evans, Amiya is a strong, athletic, powerful 6’2 forward. Her physique is impressive and very much college ready. She can play inside and out with ability to slide to block and post up and knock it down from 15 feet. She played with an increased confidence and was consistently a major interior force for the Suns this pats travel season.
Stefanie Ingram Stefanie Ingram 5'7" | CG Lake Highland | 2022 State FL (Lake Highland Prep / Hoop Dreams Elite 2022)
Ingram showcased her strong build, ability to score at the rim vs contact and solid handle all spring/summer for Hoop Dreams. The strong 5’7 guard, can play both the 1 and the 2, consistently creating havoc on opposing defenses.
Ajalon Gillard Ajalon Gillard 5'9" | CG West Orange | 2022 State FL (West Orange HS / Hoop Dreams Elite 2022)
Gillard improvements from last year to this year were impressive. The slender 5’9 guard showcased not only her deep range but the ability to put the ball to the floor and get to the rim or pull up off the dribble. She plays extremely unselfish always making the extra pass and finding the open player.
2023
D’Yanis Jimenez D’Yanis Jimenez 5'9" | PG Charlotte | 2023 State FL (Mariner HS / Miami Suns Team Fowles)
Jimenez might be this spring/summers biggest stock riser bursting onto the travel ball scene with the Miami Suns and landing multiple BCS offers. D’Yanis had some major break out games for the Miami Suns Team Fowles playing 2 age groups up at the 17U level. Her talent is very quickly recognizable as she an extremely gifted offensive player in the open court. She is a very athletic point guard, with great handle, solid court vision, 3 point range and plays with a confidence and cockiness that is mature for her age. D’Yanis has one of the highest ceilings in the state and looking forward to seeing how her stock continues to rise over the coming years.
Kiaraly Cabrera Kiaraly Cabrera 5'7" | CG Naples Community School | 2023 State FL (Community School of Naples / Miami Suns)
Cabrera was another new addition to the Miami Suns playing with the Suns 16U Team, Miami Suns Team Larkins. Cabrera consistently showcased her talents as a smooth, athletic, gifted scoring guard. She has a unique ability to get by defenders while making it look effortless. She is a dangerous scorer who can drop buckets in a hurry.
Liv Fuller Liv Fuller 5'10" | SF Clearwater | 2023 State FL (Clearwater HS / Florida United 16U)
Fuller also changed travel teams from Tampa Aces to the Tampa Thunder Phenoms 16U (she has since changed teams again, joining the newly formed Florida United 16U). Fuller might have been the travel ball seasons most impressive rebounder, consistently showcasing her athleticism and leaping ability. She is an extremely active player who has a knack for being around the ball and being in the mix.
Alancia Ramsey Alancia Ramsey 6'0" | PF St Thomas Aquinas | 2023 State FL (American Heritage Plantation / Essence Wheeler Kids 16U)
The undersized post makes up for giving up several inches to her defender by consistently being one of the courts most physical and aggressive players. She is a major interior force within five feet of the rim as a rebounder. Her mass and strength make her very challenging to move her off the boards and low block. Her effort and hustle is refreshing as she is constantly around the ball and goes to the offensive glass consistently.
