Jasmine Taylor-5’3 (Akins HS)
Taylor was one of my pleasant surprises this season and although she has left me speechless at the numerous events I’ve seen her play in this club season, one thing consistently stands out, she keeps coming at you because she’s under control with the ball going full speed and can make the pass, with either hand but she also can control the tempo and get the job done that way. Her first step is hard to deal with, she goes by defenders with either hand and finishes strong yet she also can drop the mid to long-range
Abry Odom-5’10 (Prestonwood HS) @AbryOdom
Odom plays within herself and understands how to run a team. She did a good job of not only controlling the tempo but she also saw the floor and made the right passes to the right players, especially down the stretch but she also handled the ball well under pressure which enabled her to attack the basket and finish or hit her teammates. She played good defense, created her shot, and hit the midrange numerous times
McKenna Anderson-5’5 (Royse City HS) @mckennanicole
Anderson sees the floor extremely well and made some tough passes look easy and she made many of them under pressure. She reads the floor well, directs traffic, knew when to push the ball and when to settle the team down. She handled the ball under pressure and got out of traps with her ballhandling using either hand yet she also attacked and finished using either hand as well
Chanie Chambers-5’7 (Abernathy HS) @chamberschanie
Chambers does a good job of creating her shot and while she did it under pressure numerous which got her open for the pull-up jumper yet she had options off of her creativity and that was to either attack the rim or hit teammates, she did both numerous times but she also handled the ball in the open court to get the break going where her pinpoint passes were on target for assists
Lanie Douget-5’3 (FEAST)
Douget always plays within herself and just gets the job done. She’s more of a prototype point guard that usually thinks pass first and she does a good job of doing that because she sets her teammates up nicely however just to keep the defense honest, she can and will score either off the dribble or dropping the 10-15 footer but she understands how to run a team and can get hers in the flow
