Alayssia Crawford-5’4 (Poteet HS)
Crawford attacked strong and powerfully, she has very good athleticism and that helped her maneuver from various angles to get to the rim yet she also could pass off the dribble for assists or stop and hit the short jumper. Her ability to create her shot under pressure got a lot of what she did going in the halfcourt set, she also handled the ball under pressure baseline to baseline
Joi Dunn-5’5 (Justin Northwest HS) @joidunn2022
Dunn was a force on both ends, caught my eye initially playing defense, and used her hands wisely while picking up steals yet she also played the passing lane and showed she could handle the ball going to coast to coast and come up with assists. She creates her shot in the halfcourt set, showed the pull-up from midrange as well as driving to the basket and finishing strongly
Kaylee Foster-5’7 (Duncan HS)
Foster was creating her shot off the top, she played within herself and took what was there but she also understood how to get hers in the flow and her ballhandling along with her ability to get by defenders gave her opportunities to hit teammates with crisp passes for layups while she also pulled off a couple of plays where she fooled defenders and kept the ball for lay-ups
Peyton Mosely-5’8 (Prosper HS) @Peytonmosley
Mosely was another strong guard that played multiple positions at the event. She rebounded and had enough putbacks to fall into that small forward role, much of that because of her desire to box out and battle yet she also attacked and handled the ball nicely while being defended. She saw the floor and made the right passes plus she created the mid to long-range with ease
Yasmine Perez-5’6 (Wagner HS) @Yasmineperez03
Perez zig-zagged her way to the basket numerous times the first time I started watching her and much of that was attributed to athleticism and ballhandling but other than attacking the rim, she could kick it out to open teammates as well as set them up for easy baskets. I also liked seeing her create, she was one of many that just understood how to get her shot off under pressure
Alexis Adams-5’5 (Flower Mound HS)
Adams has long arms and she’s athletic but her ability to read the passing line and handle the ball while attacking the basket for buckets stood out immediately. Her passing off the dribble going full speed also stood out but those passes came in a variety of ways to the right players yet in the halfcourt, add her to the list of players that understood how to get to their spot and nail the jumper
Brianna Trevino-5’4 (Burleson HS) @B_Trevino13
Trevino how can I say this “just did it” because she was one of the best small guards that rebounded and she did it over and over which gives you an idea about her being heady and the mindset of “not being outworked” She’s athletic, was able to not only attack but finish a variety of ways over taller players yet she also saw the floor and handled the ball well, under pressure
Hayley Hart-5’5 (Pearland HS)
Hart showed she had a good understanding of the game and thinking the game has become somewhat of a lost art. She moves well without the ball yet showed she could create her shot when she had it and took defenders numerous times off the dribble for baskets. She also saw the floor well and made crisp passes between defenders for assists yet while she was showing her ability to create, she used it for the midrange jumper. She handled the ball and defended well
