Maggie Hutka-6’1 SF (Royse City HS) @MaggieHutka42
Hutka made my Pass Tha Ball HoopAHolics Tip Sheet in 2016 and nothing I love more than to go back and see how right I was but in it, I remember she scored right or left-handed off the dribble and that has only gotten better as she’s grown, is long and athletic, plays passing lane and creates her shot so well for the attack or the pull-up jumper from mid to long-range. Her ballhandling was very good under pressure in the open court, she also understands how to get hers in the flow, she’ll be added to the Top 100
Heaven Hayden-5’10 SF (Lincoln HS) @Heavy2022
Hayden has the size and also the base, long and athletic, and watching her perform magic by handling the ball coast to coast is exciting because she doesn’t shy from the pressure yet she applies plenty of it on the defensive end and that’s either manning up baseline to baseline, in the halfcourt set or playing the passing lane which resulted in numerous steals and layups. She can multiple positions, she sees the floor very well, and watching her create her shot for the mid to long had me “drop the pen”
Victoria Perez-5’6 PG (San Elizario HS) @tori03
Perez handled the ball smoothly and efficiently and watching her do it under pressure over and over grabbed my attention immediately let her seeing the floor and , making the right passes kept my attention. She mixed her offensive skills well, creates her shot around the free-throw line, and can attack strongly while finishing the same way but her midrange pull-up was consistent yet she didn’t stop there. She showed she could shoot the long ball as well as push the ball and hit the stop and pop
Xoe Rosalez-5’6 PG (Seminole HS) @RosalezXoe
Rosalez gave me, even more, to absorb this time around, she excelled when I saw her a few weeks showing she was heady and crafty with running a team and handling the ball but this was a huge eye-opener for me as she does an even better job of handling the ball under pressure and seeing the floor and watching her “thread the needle” for assists over and over had me going. She also creates her shot and can shoot the pull-up jumper off of it, as well as attack the rim and finish with contact but then she showed not only range but “catch and shoot” from deep
Makenna Shaffer-5’10 SF (Northridge HS) @makennaxleigh
Shaffer showed some “show-stopping stuff’ many times and watching her do things instinctively, like some no-look touch passes, had me change courts and I’m thinking, did I see that right and I guess she picked my thoughts telepathically because she did it again but that wasn’t all she picked, she plays the passing lane and with her being “long and athletic” and reacting well on both ends of the floor, she also showed she had good timing to block, alter or deflect shots. She attacks the rim strong, has a very nice pull-up jumper, finishes well and rebounds
