Nyla Wold Nyla Wold 6'0" | SG Katy | 2024 State TX -5’10 SF (Katy HS) @nylawold
Wold just blended in when the game first started yet two minutes later, it was over as she just took over on both ends of the floor. The big thing about her is that she has good size and can shoot the ball from mid to long-range, I love that but importantly so do college coaches, and watching her handle the ball in the open court gave me a different view as she went coast to coast under pressure for lay-ups and she not only defended and played the passing lane well, she rebounded on both ends of the court
Taler Thornton Taler Thornton 5'9" | CG Bryan | 2024 State TX -5’8 SG (Bryan HS) @talerthornton
Thornton was labeled a #D1Lock in the 5th grade I believe, she was playing for a team out of College Station and she was wearing my daughter’s number so that definitely caught my eye as I moved to her court and since then, I haven’t stopped watching as she was one of the more explosive scorers, any class, at the event and watching her attack and defy gravity making her an “and one” waiting to happen will open many eyes early. She creates the jumper from midrange and watching her elevate over defenders was something to see
Ashna Tambe Ashna Tambe 5'7" | CG Hockaday | 2024 State TX -5’6 PG (The Hockaday HS)
Tambe made my Tip Sheet this past summer and off the bat, she showed me I wasn’t seeing a mirage. She already gets “it” and she gives it too as in hits the right person at the right time and her court vision was among the best, any class, at the event yet she isn’t prototypical point guard, she can score from mid to long-range as well as off the dribble yet she mixes it up nicely by getting teammates involved early and with the ]blink of an eye, she flips it. Solid passes on the money are always good, she will keep getting better
Kemah Shaw Kemah Shaw 5'8" | CG Austin | 2024 State TX -5’6 CG (Austin HS)
Shwa stole the show a few years ago and she’s showing she’s more than ready to be amongst the stars as she enters high school. She can play the one, she’s heady and understands how to run a team yet she can score, multiple ways by creating her shot for the pull-up or taking defenders off the dribble yet in the open court, she’s dangerous because she sees the floor very well and can hit the stop and pop jumper consistently but hold on, she mans up from baseline to baseline
Madison McKinnon Madison McKinnon 5'8" | PG Fredricksburg | 2024 State TX -5’8 PG (Fredricksburg HS) @Mmckinnon7272
McKinnon showed me what was coming in the 6th grade, she was playing with her moms older team and the one thing that stood out was her poise against high school players because when you can handle heat early, everything usually falls into place, like her jumper which has become very dangerous from everywhere yet she runs the one smoothly and efficiently and threads the needle with the best of them already. She handles the ball under pressure and just elevates those around her
Victoria Barrera Victoria Barrera 5'9" | CG Amarillo | 2024 State TX -5’7 SG (Amarillo HS) @torynay247
Barrera was so good at the Duel States Girls Combine that she was a late addition to the 2024 Watchlist yet after her performance, I’m even sharper than I thought because she was one of the top performers at the event, she scored every way imaginable and did it over and over again. To be honest, I actually had to ask her name because as good as she was a few weeks ago, she just took it to another level so watching her create under pressure for the step back, the fadeaway, or just that straight pull-up had me SMH
