2024, 5’5, CG, Mountain Pointe HS (AZ), Amyah Freeland Amyah Freeland 5'8" | SG Mountain Pointe | 2024 State AZ – Very high IQ player at this event, sort of a very creative scorer from the midrange and in the paint. Her game was quite smooth and she always tended to make the hard shots, which is good for her. Good length and size for the combo guard position and was decent with the handle and is developing her three point shot and was solid on the defensive end of the floor.
2022, 5’5, PG/CG, Mesa HS (AZ), Mackenzie Shivers Mackenzie Shivers 5'7" | CG Mesa | 2022 State AZ – This guard was exciting to watch on the floor, a true floor general that a coach would be happy to have on their team. She took care of the ball with confidence and there was no way anyone on the floor would take it from her. She attacked the basket with a vengeance and she was very decent with her handle that allowed her to setup her teammates for easy baskets off the dime. She was solid on the defensive end of the floor as well, she was definitely one of the best guards at the event.
2022, 5’3, PG, Westwood HS (AZ), Nikkianna Kinsel Nikkianna Kinsel 5'7" | CG Westwood | 2022 State AZ – exciting combo guard who can score in a variety of ways. She is outstanding scoring in traffic and she will play through contact. She has a nice looking stroke out to the 3 point line and she shoots it with consistency. Underrated performer for sure.
2022, 5’5, PG, Tuscan HS (AZ), Tamia Clardy Tamia Clardy 5'6" | CG Tucson High | 2022 State AZ – Clardy plays with a ton of energy on both sides. She displayed some great on the ball defense and she was one of the better guards in the transition game. Her ability to hit the mid-range jumper stood out during the day.
2022, 5’7, PG, Flintridge Prep HS (CA), Ashlyn Zhang Ashlyn Zhang 5'7" | PG Flintridge Prep | 2022 State CA – Slender point guard with a lot of good tools on the floor, can get by her opponent and finish with a floater or bank off the glass. She has a very good handle, she can shoot it from the midrange, can get to the rim or make the three pointer with consistency. She always has her head up and is always looking for a nice dime to a teammate for a score. She can be to generous sometimes, she needs to know when to score when her team needs a bucket.
2021, 5’7, PG, Narbonne HS (CA), Brandy Castaneda – Castaneda is scrappy and full of confidence in her game, she is a good point guard and takes things seriously on the floor and plays hard. She is a defensive aggressor and she is a pass first guard that can really score when she wants. She is improving on the three pointer, but she is excellent at getting to the rim and shooting the midrange.
