The two-day event featured some of the top talent from the Northern California area as well as players from neighboring areas such as Washington and Nevada. Each class was well represented from 2021 all the way down to 2025/26. I attended the event both Sat Oct. 17 and Sun Oct. 18. Here’s a look at some additional players from the class of 2023 that I saw:
1. Gabriella Biittner – Colfax HS (Grass Valley, CA)
Biittner is a combo player, capable of playing both the point and shooting guard. She has solid handles and is comfortable with the ball in her hands against the defense. She’s a great shooter, especially on the arc. She knocked down jump shots consistently during shooting drills. Defensively, she puts in the effort. She has good hands and does well reading the offensive player.
2. Sydney Hani Sydney Hani 6'1" | SF Lake Washington | 2023 State WA – Lake Washington HS (Kirkland, WA)
Hani has good size and upside. For a big, she has a solid and consistent jump shot. One area of her game that stood out to me was her willingness to step out and guard wings defensively. She has good quickness and length to be able to do so and she develops, she’ll become even more comfortable with that versatility on the defensive end. Already acts as an defensive anchor in the paint.
3. Campbell Vieg – Chico HS (Chico, CA)
Vieg was one of the smaller players on the court compared to the rest of the group, but she doesn’t let that bother her. She tries incredibly hard and puts forth strong effort. She is very comfortable with the ball in her hands making plays. Solid when it comes to moving without the ball; she makes strong cuts/dives to the rim and she can shoot well from three-point range. Good motor.
4. Marecia Barnett Marecia Barnett 5'10" | SG Emerald Ridge | 2023 State WA – Emerald Ridge HS (Tacoma, WA)
Barnett is another strong player with good upside. She’s a forward who can do a couple of different things on the court. She sets proper screens with her feet set and elbow to elbow with the ball-handler. She can use her size effectively in the paint and she makes decisive, strong moves to the rim. She’s a little bit versatile defensively, she’s comfortable coming out the paint and guarding perimeter players.
