With the state gearing up for the 2020-2021 season I thought it was a good time to revisit a topic I dug into in September 2019, players who board and score likely to have big years.  Continuing with the process I used last year, including relying on data populating MaxPreps, I looked at players using the following criteria:

  1.  Averaged greater than 8 rebounds per game;
  2.  Gathered more than 175 rebounds in the season;
  3.  Played a substantially high percentage of team’s games; and
  4.  Had a field goal percentage of greater than 35%.

The resulting pool of 15 players was reduced to 10 by ranking players by percentage of offensive rebounds to total rebounds in consideration for offensive rebounds turning into second chance points.  Listed below in order by average rebounds per game, the resulting pool of players are a mixture of known standouts and under-recognized despite a strong 2020 season.  They bear watching this coming season.
