Players at all levels can make a name for themselves and next level coaches can see the young players that make up the next generation of great basketball players. We will look at 10 freshman from the Top 250 that college coaches should be sure to follow.
Maya Anderson (5-9, G, Cass Tech)
Anderson is a top notch young talent in Detroit. She plays a game that’s intelligent beyond her years. Anderson seemed to thrive under contact.
Anaya Billups (6-0, F, Detroit Edison)
Billups is a big time talent in Michigan. Her game is so smooth and it feels like she can play almost any position. She uses long strides to get down the court in a hurry in transition.
Tayla Dillard (5-8, G, Kalamazoo Central)
Dillard is a grinder. She just flat out plays hard, and seemed to stress the defensive end. Dillard is a player that college coaches will want to keep an eye on.
Alexus Dunn (5-7, G, Greenville)
Dunn is a terrific incoming talent. She’s confident in her jumper and has 3 point range. Dunn works to get open and stands shot ready waiting for the pass.
Makayla Hatchew (5-4, G, Sparta)
Hatchew is a talented young perimeter player. She seems like a natural point guard and floor leader. Hatchew is a strong player that can play through the defense.
Taryn Jackson (5-6, G, Lowell)
Jackson will have an exciting basketball future in store for her. She’s a dynamic and exciting young player with a big upside. Jackson is quick with her handles and dribbles downhill.
Mia McLaughlin (5-9, G, Frankenmuth)
McLaughlin could be a real impact player in the years to come. She was super efficient on the day at the Top 250. McLaughlin didn’t need to be ball dominant to make a difference.
Ryan Moorer (5-9, G, Madison Heights Bishop Foley)
Moorer had a really solid grassroots season, and that did nothing but continue on Sunday. She is smooth and never really looks to struggle to get to a spot on the court. Moorer has a very big upside as a prospect.
Brooke Simpson (5-10, G/F, Belding)
Belding has a special one on their hands. The girl was lights out at the Top 250. Simpson was a do-it-all player that is effective anywhere on the floor.
Brea Snell (5-3, G, Kalamazoo Central)
Snell will be a prospect for college coaches to keep an eye on. She’s quick both vertically and horizontally. Snell is a strong and speedy ball handler as well.
