Cy Ranch Mustangs
2023
Cameron Harding-5’8 SG- I don’t recall seeing Harding anywhere before, if I did, I didn’t have a roster and kept moving yet she kept moving on the court, on both ends and I love seeing players show explosiveness off the dribble, she has that and her first step can leave defenders wondering where she went and that would be usually to the basket. Long arms, athletic, yeah that’s the base too and her reading the passing lane was a definite plus, but she had many
Tracey Matinudu-5’8 SG -Matindu is someone I have seen before, many times and she made my Tip Sheet before high school so watching her progression and expanding her game has been nice because she too is long and athletic and understands how to set the defender up but her ability to create her shot includes more than attacking the basket, she has a nice jumper and can shoot the mid to long-range consistently
Shadow Creek Sharks
2021
Da’Nae Williams-5’0 PG- Williams has always fallen into the #sizedontmatter category because she can play, on both ends but her offensive mindset of pushing the ball as well as shooting the jumper from deep are just two of her many pluses because she understands how to run a team, she can create for her and her teammates and make hard passes look easy but her defense is among the best guards in the area
Rachel Anderson-6’0 P- Anderson is solid on both ends of the floor, her ability to finish after contact as well as face the basket and score has improved every season and she is a double-double waiting to happen in most games. She also rebounds on both ends of the court, can get the break going with the outlet and she runs the floor. Her interior defense has always been good yet she’s stepping out of the paint to defend now which shows she’s been working
2022
Brooklin Brown-5’9 G- Brown is one of the most underrated players in the Houston area and how she keeps adding to her game is just something to see. Let’s start with the base, she’s long and athletic and her ability to anticipate, playing the passing lane. usually leads to baskets going the other way but she’s under control on offense, can take defenders with either hand and finish the same way however watching her elevate over defenders, either driving to the basket or with the jumper, which she knocks down from mid to long-range will create problems
