The class of 2022 was well represented. Let’s take a look at a few standout juniors from Sunday:
Annabelle (AB) Burnett | 2022 | 5’4” Shooting Guard | Plano West HS – Burnett is a tough-nosed player with a great feel for the game. She consistently beat taller defenders off the dribble on Sunday. The Plano West guard is a crafty finisher at the basket who can take it all the way herself or drop it off to a teammate down low at the last possible second. Her grittiness on defense was noticeable as well.
Alexis Adams | 2022 | 5’5” Combo Guard | Flower Mound HS – Adams put together a terrific shooting performance at the expo. The junior combo guard is a sniper from the catch, burying numerous catch-and-shoot threes in Irving. She is always ready to launch and does a good job of getting open off the ball, often utilizing screens to free herself up. Beyond that, Adams is a good ball handler with a knack for shaking defenders.
Victoria Perez | 2022 | 5’6” Shooting Guard | San Elizario HS – Perez navigates the floor incredibly well. She uses her dribble to get to her spots. She is listed as a two-guard, but she is a good enough ball handler and decision maker to run the point. The San Elizario junior also utilizes ball fakes to create space and finishes with some beautiful runners and scoop shots at the hoop.
Suni Davis Suni Davis 5'7" | SG Saginaw | 2022 State TX | 2022 | 5’7” Shooting Guard | Saginaw HS – Davis is decisive with the ball in her hands. Her IQ and decision-making skills were on full display at the expo. The junior guard finds windows in the defense and delivers well-placed passes that hit teammates in stride. As a scorer, Davis drills three-pointers in rhythm off the bounce. Her mid-range game is solid as well. She is an offensive weapon.
Raylee Cave | 2022 | 5’8” Small Forward/Power Forward | Princeton HS – Cave is a physical forward. She does an excellent job of sealing off defenders down low and boxing out to secure rebounds. The 5-foot-8-inch junior has knack for getting defenders to leave their feet with pump fakes which leads to easy buckets in the paint and/or trips to the foul line. Additionally, Cave finishes through contact in the post and handles the ball comfortably on the perimeter.
Dezerae De La Garza | 2022 | 5’2” Point Guard | Laredo United South HS – De La Garza is an outstanding ball handler. She has good quickness in space and weaves through traffic in transition with ease. Her quick first step allows her to get inside where she can score with floaters or runners despite being at a size disadvantage most of the time. The 2022 floor general also came up with a few steals at the other end on Sunday.
