Below are a list of prospects that competed at the Top 250 Exclusive that stood out for their strong and relentless rebounding in the paint.
Paige Lambe Paige Lambe 6'2" | PF Verona | 2023 State WI | 6’1 PF
Lambe is showing impressive growth to say many parts of her game very early on. She has great speed and agility on the floor. She has a great desire to be the strongest and hardest working on the floor; which is super exciting to watch. She doesn’t shy away from contact and has great technical skills when outletting and keeping the ball strong after a board. The way Lambe finishes the play on offensive rebounds doesn’t go unnoticed either. She does exceptionally well chining the ball and bringing the ball into a place of strength.
Chloe Dallas Chloe Dallas 6'2" | PF Wauwatosa East | 2021 State WI | 6’1 PF
Dallas is such a phenomenal athlete overall but her rebounding stands out most. She welcomes contact- which makes her a high profile prospect with so much upside. She isn’t afraid to use her body in the lane and create space by holding defenders back. She’s relentless on the offensive boards as well. Another thing that Dallas does so well that will translate well at the next level is tipping out. There are many times when the ball is too far out of the area to be able to grab and pull in. Dallas does very well recognizing that and tipping it just right to her teammates on the perimeter.
Caden Krohn Caden Krohn 6'0" | PF Waukesha West | 2023 State WI | 6’1 PF
Krohn displayed great rebounding as well when she was under the lane. Her overall mentality on the floor is what I believe makes her such a successful rebounder. She gives maximum effort every time the shot goes up. There are no plays off when it comes to being a great rebounder and I believe Krohn embodies that well. Krohn sees a lot of boards when she’s on the floor due to her ability to react first. The minute the ball leaves the defenders hands, Krohn is eyeing it down and chasing it before the “quicker” defender.
Emily LaChapell | 5’11 G
LaChapell grabs a lot of boards on both ends of the floor. She is a gifted athlete who has extreme versatility on the floor. She can get in the lane and use her body or use her speed to chase down longboards. She outworks her opponent every play. LaChapell has great length but shows it is not about size when fighting for the board against taller opponents; it’s how hard you work to get the ball. She also has great technique when holding her defender and grabbing the rebound off a miss.
Ellie McDermid Ellie McDermid 6'2" | C Bay Port | 2024 State WI | 6’0 G
McDermid is making noise for her ability to offensive rebound that did not go unnoticed. An advanced prospect already, McDermid did so well creating second chance opportunities for herself. She does well close to the basket and uses her legs to generate force and leverage to drive defenders under the basket. An advanced skill that McDermid does very well. Her display of inside positioning and be able to chase down after the box out was impressive.
