There were a lot of players that did just that on Sunday at the Prep Girls Hoops Top 250. Here are some stock risers that I saw at the event:
Mackenzie Egger Mackenzie Egger PG Mt. Pleasant | 2021 State MI (2021, 5-11, G, Mt. Pleasant)
Egger was really able to do it all at the showcase. She’s a dynamic athlete and a tough stop on the offensive end.
Isabel Lindo Isabel Lindo 5'8" | PG Williamston | 2023 State MI (2023, 5-8, G, Williamston)
Lindo has a nice future ahead of her in high school basketball. She has a nice looking jumper with range and is steady with the ball.
Ndidiamaka Ndukwe Ndidiamaka Ndukwe 5'10" | SF Summit Academy | 2021 State MI (2021, 5-11, F, Summit Academy)
Ndukwe deserves to play college basketball. She find her way in the lane off the dribble and utilizes a very impressive mid range game.
Grace Rakoksky (2024, 5-3, G, Grandville)
Rakoksky put herself on the prospect map with a solid day at the Top 250. She was able to influence the game at both ends.
Brook Simpson (2024, G/F, Belding)
Simpson has the potential to be an elite prospect in the class of 2024. She looked like she could play the 1-4 effectively at the expo.
DeAndrea Smith (2023, 5-7, G, Flint Carman-Ainsworth)
Quite simply, Smith is underrated. She’s a 3 level scorer that can play on or off the ball. Smith has good hip movement that kept defenders guessing.
Makaiya Thomas Makaiya Thomas SF Saginaw Arts and Sciences | 2021 State MI (2021, 5-6, G, Saginaw Arts & Sciences)
Thomas is a quick athlete that can play a fast game. She gets up and down the court on both ends. Thomas is a player that college coaches should keep an eye on this season.
Kayiona Willis Kayiona Willis PG Southfield A&T | 2021 State MI (2021, 5-5, G, Southfield A & T)
Willis has improved a lot in the last calendar year. Her aggressive style of play and superb ball handling shown on Sunday should have college coaches coming.
Erin Young Erin Young PF Livonia Franklin | 2022 State MI (2022, 5-10, F, Livonia Franklin)
Admittedly, I hadn’t seen Young play as much as I’d have liked in the past. I came away very impressed. She’s a versatile player that can defend all over the court.
