Taryn Ling Taryn Ling 5'7" | SG Lincoln Southwest | 2022 State NE – SG – Lincoln Southwest
Taryn has great impact on the defensive end of the floor. She has good feel for when to apply ball pressure or press after a made basket. She shoots a good percentage from three, but her footwork prevents her from a more variable shooting arsenal. In her role as a defensive specialist and spot-up shooter, she excels.
Ella Wat Ella Wat 6'2" | SF Norris | 2022 NE – SF – Norris
The lengthy wing from Norris is a matchup problem on both ends. Offensively, she stretches the floor and has quick enough feet to blow by the typical defender. On defense, she has size to compete inside but shows great value on the perimeter and in the midrange by creating deflections and getting in the grill of her matchup.
Hannah Benedict Hannah Benedict 5'7" | SG Seward | 2022 State NE – PF – Superior
Shayla has great feel and IQ on the court. She jumps passes like a cornerback and can lead the break successfully. She sees the full court and is always anticipating the next play to be made.
Ella Hess Ella Hess 5'8" | SG Concordia | 2022 State NE – SG – Concordia
Her high-arcing shot from distance fuels Ella’s offensive success. She is excellent off the catch, but showed flashes of skill shooting off the dribble as a sophomore. Her footwork is adaptable and will help her efficiency throughout her career.
Carney Black Carney Black 5'9" | SF Elkhorn Valley | 2022 State NE – SF – Elkhorn Valley
While averaging nearly 15 points per game in her sophomore season, Carney showed ability to score in multiple ways. If she is involved in your fast break, you are feeling good. She runs the floor hard and chooses the correct angles to attack. She is a reliable shooter from distance, and can achieve paint penetration often, but she has work to do with finishing at the basket.
Dakotah Ludemann Dakotah Ludemann 5'7" | PG Johnson County Central | 2022 State NE – PG – Johnson County Central
Dakotah has the tools that are required of a smaller player to be a great defender. She shuffles her feet well on the drive, but can stop in her tracks to change direction quickly, too. She also has very quick hands that can accurately strike at the ball and disrupt the offensive player. This is especially useful when matched up against larger players. The big can get overconfident and loose with the ball, and the smaller player must strike while the opportunity exists to get a stop.
Nealy Brummond Nealy Brummond 5'5" | CG Norfolk | 2022 State NE – CG – Norfolk
Nealy is a speedy combo guard with nice-ball handling ability. She had limited opportunities last season, but I like what I see with her perimeter shooting. She hit threes off the dribble and off the catch and looked comfortable with both.
Ravyne Wallace Ravyne Wallace 5'8" | SG Omaha Northwest | 2022 State NE – SG – Omaha Northwest
Everything Ravyne does on the court, she does with energy. When on the move with the ball, she stays low to the ground to remain explosive. She is a great slasher who has very soft touch around the rim.
Livi Kraft – SG – Papillion La Vista
Olivia is one of the better off-ball players you’ll find in this class. She is excellent at identifying and relocating to the open spot on the perimeter. The Monarchs set several flare screens and down screens to give Olivia the space she needed to launch from distance.
Nikie Nelson Nikie Nelson 5'10" | SF Ord | 2022 NE – SF – Ord
Nikie does her damage in the screen and roll game. She is an above-average screen setter, and effective on the roll. As she rolls to the hoop she hand fights and wedges her body into position, and has soft hands on the catch. Even without receiving the basketball, she often gets a switch onto the guard, or at least gets a step on the big defender, and she cleans up on the boards.
