Taylor Barnes-5’9 F (Ashley Robinson Vols)
Barnes has a mixture of ways to do what I love to see, put the ball in the basket and when you have the base, long and athletic, to build on, you’re ahead in so many ways so yeah, she plays the passing lane very well right now and that can be a game-changer down the road as she is a layup going the other way yet she also does a good job of taking defenders from the wing, especially going baseline and her body controls pretty good as well but to set it off, her midrange very effective
Haniya Geretta-5’7 G (Unity Basketball)
Geretta sold me at Pass Tha Ball #Select40 that I covered in Austin so nothing she does from here on will surprise me because she’s athletic, she’s powerful and she thinks the game and all of that combined with a solid skill-set spells trouble for defenders trying to contain her. She creates her shot so well and with her strength, when she attacks she’s an and one waiting to happen but that factor in body control or defying gravity on her jumper as she can just hang in the air before she lets it go
Brianna Jones-5’4 PG (Lady Lions)
Jones is one of those players you love to have because teams probably won’t sit back in the zone so watching her range from another zip code was pretty smooth at first and after four or five, I’m thinking wow but she can mix it up after she creates her shot under pressure, her ability to attack and finish combined with attack and dish keeps the defense honest yet if they don’t play her close, that range goes into effect but throw in that she plays the passing lane well
Paige Langley-5’6 G
Langley is a heady guard that sets defenders up very well and watching her use multiple options after creating her shot all throughout the event was nice because she never did the same thing back to back, she took them to the left, to the right, or straight down the middle and with her frame, the contact she received was not an issue from the bump to the hard-knock but what really gave her options was she can shoot it, from mid to long-range and that’s where the problems started
Spirit Sheriff-5’3 PG (Ashley Robinson Lady Vols)
Sheriff has the right name because she is in charge and watching her handle the ball going full speed under pressure was entertaining because she’s under control and makes good decisions as she can throw pinpoint passes while blazing down the court for assists or she can just attack the rim and finish, she does that in the half-court setting as well but her pull-up jumper from midrange or the stop and pop jumper going full speed again made her a menace
