It’s no secret that college coaches at all levels are constantly shopping for the perfect player for their team. Well coaches, here are some absolute steals for you from the class of 2022, in honor of the biggest shopping day of the year.
Asia Cochran Asia Cochran 5'8" | SG Westfield Prep | 2022 State MI (SG, Westfield Prep)
If you haven’t heard her name, now is the time to become familiar and start recruiting her. Cochran is a dynamic guard that could blow up this high school season and her recruitment will become all the more competitive.
Alaina Diaz Alaina Diaz 5'7" | CG Hudsonville | 2022 State MI (CG, Hudsonville)
Trust me, you want Diaz on your team. She’s the ultimate energy player and can play on or off the ball effectively. If you’re a coach that wants speed in transition, you have to take a look at Diaz.
Olivia Dirkse Olivia Dirkse SG Davison | 2022 State MI (SG, Davison)
Let’s be real, every coach wants a shooter. Especially one that can pop it off the catch as well as create her own look off the dribble. Dirkse is an underrated prospect that will make college coaches very happy.
Kayla Giroux Kayla Giroux PF Flat Rock | 2022 State MI (PF, Flat Rock)
Giroux doesn’t have eye popping intangibles. But she has better than those. She flat out gets the job done. Giroux is a winner, that very rarely loses her matchup within a game. She’s always a threat for a double-double in points and rebounds.
Mya Hicks (CG, Ann Arbor Pioneer)
Hicks is a versatile 2 way guard. She can be a secondary, as well as a primary, ball handler. Hicks can defend the entire length of the floor, guarding either the 1 or 2. She’s a high IQ player that can be a rock and a leader for her squad.
Kate Jacobs Kate Jacobs 6'3" | C Hartland | 2022 State MI (C, Hartland)
Jacobs is a must see for college coaches. She’s tall and long, and knows how to use it on the defensive end. Jacobs has the potential to be a defensive force, even at the collegiate level. Her game is growing, especially offensively, and she has a very high ceiling.
Mackenzie Miller Mackenzie Miller 6'0" | PF Schoolcraft | 2022 State MI (PF, Schoolcraft)
Miller is that glue in the post that a lot of coaches love. She’s not afraid to battle and get her hands dirty under the rim. Miller has a good feel for the game and a natural understanding of what her team needs from her on any given night.
Mya Petticord Mya Petticord 5'9" | PG Arbor Prep | 2022 State #33 Nation MI (PG, Arbor Prep)
This seems obvious. It’d be tough, if not impossible, to find a more skilled floor general in the midwest. Petticord is so solid and dependable with the ball in her hands. Plus, she always moves the ball, never lets it stick, and makes the defense react and eventually break down.
Ruby Whitehorn Ruby Whitehorn 6'0" | PG Detroit Edison | 2022 State #20 Nation MI (CG, Detroit Edison)
Rickea Jackson Rickea Jackson 6'2" | SF Detroit Edison | 2019 State MI = College superstar. Gabby Elliott = Sure looked like a superstar in her opening college game. Damiya Hagemann Damiya Hagemann 5'8" | PG Detroit Edison | 2021 State #35 Nation MI = I’m willing to bet she’s a future college superstar. Anybody see a trend? Whitehorn is just so skilled and dynamic. I’m willing to bet on any DEPSA star.
Jordan Wright Jordan Wright 5'6" | PG Ann Arbor Huron | 2022 MI (PG, Ann Arbor Huron)
College coaches at all levels, you’ve got to see this young lady play ball. She is efficient with the ball, rarely turning it over. Wright can create for herself and for her teammates. I truly believe that she can be a future floor general for a Division 1 team.
