With the season being pushed back 6 weeks, we have more time to preview the 2021 season. Here’s a look at some players who have to replace the 2020 Miss Basketball nominees.
First Region: Charlee SettleCharleeSettle6'1" | CCalloway County | 2020StateKY, Calloway County -
Coming off a 19 win season, Calloway County will have to hit a bit of a reset button with Settle gone to Murray State for her college career. Elle CarsonElleCarson5'6" | CGCalloway County | 2021StateKY is going to take the majority of the scoring load as she averaged just under 10 points per game last year. After spending the last few seasons as the Robin to Settle’s Batman, Elle should have a chance to shine and will be in the mix to be a 2021 Miss Basketball finalist also.
Second Region: Emilee HopeEmileeHope5'6" | SGHenderson County | 2020StateKY, Henderson County -
Sadie Wurth is one of the top Seniors in the second region and my personal pick to be the Miss Basketball nominee in 2021. Having said that, I’d like to buy some long term stock in Sophomore Guard Graci Risley. As a Freshman, she was the X factor for the 2nd region champs. As a Sophomore, she’s going to be in the mix as a top 5-10

As a Sophomore, she’s going to be in the mix as a top 5-10 player in the entire region.
Third Region:

Kendall WinglerKendallWingler5'10" | CGMeade County | 2020StateKY, Meade County -
Replacing
Hannah McKayHannahMcKay6'0" | PFOwensboro Catholic | 2020StateKY is going to be a tall task for a Lady Aces team that also lost their second and third scorers. Senior Forward Ally Maggard is the top returning player for Catholic but there is a large group of Sophomores who are ready for bigger roles. At Meade County,
Jenna GallimoreJennaGallimore5'10" | SFMeade County | 2021StateKY should easily slide into the role left by Wingler’s graduation. Jenna is a great scorer and does a little bit of everything. Wingler graduated as one of the best scorers in recent Kentucky history but Gallimore is capable.
Fourth Region:
Elizabeth BertramElizabethBertram5'6" | CGBarren County | 2020StateKY, Barren County -
With Bertram gone to Centre College, Junior
Raven EnnisRavenEnnis5'4" | PGBarren County | 2022StateKY looks ready to step up and take a bigger role with the Trojanettes. Raven is a bona fide college prospect and a magnificent shooter who had shooting splits of 40/38/74 and was also second on the team in rebounding at 6 per game. Barren will not be rebuilding this season as long as Ennis is ready to break out as one of the 4th region’s top players.
