Cydney Curtis, Poly, 2022 Point Guard
I am very impressed with Cydney’s development since last summer. She has become a solid point guard and is capable of running an offense and facilitating for her teammates. She is a solidly built 5’5″ and has really improved her handle which allows her to create space to get off her step back three pointers and get into the lane. She is an above average shooter from deep and has some crafty finishing moves inside. On defense she will always look for the opponent’s top guard and play physical and sound on ball defense the entire game.
Da’Brya Clark Da’Brya Clark 5'8" | SG Baltimore Poly | 2023 State MD e, Poly, 2023 Guard
Da’bryia’s game has really matured after a really successful freshman season. She established herself as a go to scorer on a really deep Poly team last winter. She has a very aggressive scorer’s mentality and that’s what she looks to do first. She attacks the basket relentlessly and is a strong finisher in the paint where she also draws a lot of fouls. She has played more point guard recently and is developing a nice feel for the position, looking to set up teammates more and making strong and accurate passes. She continues to grow physically and will probably get close to six feet. She has big time potential.
Ashley Dickey Ashley Dickey 5'6" | CG Catonsville | 2022 State MD , Catonsville, 2022 Point Guard
Ashley is a strong 2022 prospect. She has a high motor and it never goes off. She is an exceptional athlete with good length and long arms. She is a solid on ball defender and is very disruptive in the passing lanes. She has good size at 5’8″ and is versatile enough to play off ball as well as the point. She is a lefty and is very dangerous in transition. She has a high IQ and has gotten better in each of her high school seasons.
Gabrielle Johnson Gabrielle Johnson 5'7" | PG Western | 2022 State MD , Western, 2022 Guard
“Showtime” Gabby Johnson was playing with a put together team for fall league play and she took the opportunity to show off her leadership skills in addition to the game skills she has an abundance of. Gabby can score with the best of them as she has an above average three point shot and a whole bag of mid range floaters and pull ups she can utilize. She gets to the rim through contact and gets more “and 1” opportunities than any other guard in the area. She went out of her way to show teammates where to go and was very vocal both on and off the court.
Savannah Brooks Savannah Brooks 5'9" | CG Legacy Early College | 2022 State SC , Springdale Prep, 2022 Guard
I was not familiar with Ms. Brooks but the league director pointed her out to me and let me know she was probably the league MVP. I was not disappointed with her play. She is a tough and versatile guard who played most of the day on the point. She is very athletic and fast with the ball. Her court vision and awareness are impressive and she shot the ball really well, showing off range and excellent footwork. I am looking forward to seeing more of her.
